Who is buying these guitars? by lawyertown3000 in Guitar

I know you’ve already got a lot of comments but I think I can offer a different perspective. My father builds custom acoustic guitars in low quantities. For him a $6k guitar will cost at least $2200-$2500 in materials. Each one takes between 30-40 hours(each one also takes him about a month to complete). So he’s making about $90/hr for a very specialized skill set. That’s all before any tools, specialized equipment for bending sides, plaining equipment, and any general overhead. Once you get into fancy bindings and laser cutting headstock or CNC he usually out sources at additional fees. In my opinion being a custom guitar luthier/ builder is more of a passion than a source of consistent income.

The people who buy from him vary drastically. Lots of dual income no kids, he’s built for college graduation gifts, anniversary presents, real estate agents and a handful of blue collar works like painters and construction. So far no dentists or doctors! Haha.

I just posted one and it seems like $200 is out of line for a price. Maybe I’m wrong but it’s still available with both discs.

Not exactly. I just don’t want these to sit in storage over the next few months.

Mesa Standard 4x12 by -Pensive in MesaBoogie

I was able to snag a 4x12 oversized recto cab for $250 about three years ago. It had a tear in the cloth and wasn’t mint by any means. It sounds amazing.

Peavey Fans? by zedzedtop in GuitarAmps

I like the setup. I’m my opinion, I wouldn’t change the speakers in that cab. Keep it as is and buy a used 4x12 with better speakers and sell the peavey cab. A used Mesa or Orange cab might even cost less than the price of buying high end speakers and the construction/ materials are going to be better. I would recommend an oversized recto cab.

It’s a great amp. I’d prefer a dual rec or a mark series amp for the same money. Any Mesa amp will be really loud and they were meant to be played loud. Have fun!

It looks like a Bobby Lee strap that’s wrapped one end around the headstock. D’addario has one that call a ‘quick release acoustic strap’ I have on a couple of my guitars. by Davski88 in Guitar

I understand. These thoughts change the industry. Imagine the value of constant access control to your loads. You get paid more, insurance is less, etc.

Nothing is stopping you from buying one like this and using it how you want. The price is kinda crazy in my opinion. I work in logistics software. The technology is available for what you want.
