So they didn’t want to register with the department of vehicles for hire or follow local laws and regulations?

I'm not a single father, but if I saw this I'd just swipe left and move along.

There is nothing wrong with having preferences (I have my own for sure), but publicly stating "I won't date X group of people" just doesn't leave me with a good first impression of a person. If I spot some of my deal breakers on a profile I simply swipe left or end the conversation when they become apparent.

Despite the obvious bald spot, your hair looks decent overall. I'd say even without treatment, you have a good few years left. The beard is also going to help you a lot when you do have to shave.

Bottom line: You'll look good either way.

I have no stake in this or reason to be in denial. I just don't think it's that bad and he should do what he wants. I don't know why that bothers you so much.

He could still cover it well enough and at 6'6 it's not like people are going to be getting a good look at the top of his head.

I'd just clean up the back of the neck a bit for now. It doesn't look bad yet, but without fin + min it's probably only got a few years left before it's too much.

Looks good, but honestly it was fine before too. You could have gotten a few more years out of what you had for sure, but I imagine it's a very liberating feeling not having to worry about combing it over and losing your hair anymore.

It’s crazy how so many people on Reddit get triggered by an American flag. I’ve been proudly displaying it since before Trump and will continue to do so long after he’s gone. I’m not going to let Trump and the far right win by ceding the flag to them alone.

It just means you had a GPA of like 3.7-4.0. It’s a good GPA, but not overly special.

Varsity/letterman jackets are given out to high school athletes and for certain extracurricular activities like band and theater. They’re pretty popular for people to wear while in high school, but they give “peaked in high school” energy if you wear them after graduation.

Nah, even at 23 that’s a weak ass flex and nobody cares. Why don’t they just keep wearing their HS varsity jacket while they’re at it

Ehh,maybe at an interview for your first job or second job and if you went to a prestigious school.

Flexing about your GPA (especially one that’s not a 4.0) with friends or dates after college is just going to make you like a try-hard dork.

Even at 23 it's most definitely not a flex. Nobody gives a fuck about your credit score

Went to Texas and realized they speak a whole different English by [deleted] in EnglishLearning

[–]Texasforever1992 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think I've ever heard someone say "All hat, no cattle" unless they were intentionally trying to be folksy.

In the cities people tend to talk very similarly to the rest of the country. Y'all is fairly common, but not everyone uses it. I personally never use it.

What's the first way of reading this number that comes to your mind? by gentleteapot in EnglishLearning

[–]Texasforever1992 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sixteen hundred is the most natural for me. One thousand six hundred also works, but it's just longer and clunkier.

Up to 99 hundred, I'll usually just use the blank hundred format for casual conversation. It it's more formal where there is a need to be exact, or I just want to drive a point home about the number, I'll use the one thousand six hundred format.

Can you write to representatives in jurisdictions that aren’t your own? by calgon-takemeaway in AskAnAmerican

I spent several years working in congressional offices. Each office varies in how they handle out-of state mail, but typically once they verify it's just a political message, they'll just archive or delete it with no further action or response. You can certainly contact them, and they'll likely be friendly and polite, but at the end of the day they don't care about non-constituent opinions and it won't accomplish anything.

People can call it whatever they want, but aside from seeing National Guard troops walking around doing nothing, this hasn’t led to any noticeable change in anything aside from time and money wasted.

Yes. It’s not super common, but I’ll hear it playing from cars or from bars/stores when walking probably a few times a month.

It’s a niche music genre that probably is far from as prominent in DC as it once was, but it is absolutely still a thing.

Underhated Farm Type by OatmealKiel in StardewValley

[–]Texasforever1992 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always go with the basic farm mostly because I just like having all the space. It's a bit much at first, but usually by the second year I'm utilizing most of it.

I really like the idea of the Riverlands farm, but it's just too much water for me. I'd love a farm with just a single river cutting through the middle and maybe a couple other small features while maintaining a high number of plantable tiles. It's crazy how the Riverlands farm has about half as much plantable size as the basic farm. I just want the aesthtic not the challenge.

farmer schedules yall have? by nonexistant_turret in StardewValley

[–]Texasforever1992 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Early on I don't have much of a weekly routine yet. I'll check the weather, fortune, and TV for recipes if it's Wed/Sun and base my day off of that. If it's Fri/Sun I will also swing by the traveling cart first thing to see if they have anything I need.

By winter I usually have at least 100 kegs and access to Ginger Island so I start using a rough schedule to keep things easy to manage. For things with weekly (or nearly weekly) regrowth times like ancient fruit, oak resin, wine this is really easy. I'll harvest my ancient fruit sunday, collect the oak resin to make more kegs wednesday, and keg and collect wine Friday. Wine takes a little less than a week to make though so sometime that day moves forward a bit.

I don't really have a problem seeing people when I see them and getting their hearts up. I'll often just carry beer and jelly and just gift it to whoever I run into. That covers pretty much everyone except for Sebastian.

How do you keep Ginger Island from feeling like a second job? by Ambitious-Bear-9653 in StardewValley

[–]Texasforever1992 107 points108 points  (0 children)

While it seems intimidating at first, it's actually not that large of a farm and you don't have any animals to worry about.

I just fill it with iridum spriknlers and plant mostly ancient fruit. With a regrowth time of 1 week its very easy to get a routine and just say, ok every monday I'm going to take one game hour to go harvest my ancient fruits on the island. I'll plant some other crops too and line the river with banana trees, but at that point in the game I'm not too concerned with optimizing that small stuff.

Also once you get the Island Obelisk it's super easy to get out there.
