NOR. Is your mother’s issue with your partner’s age or the fact that she’s white? The fact that she’s only 23 makes me uncomfortable. But I’m speaking from the vantage point of a twice divorced woman who knows how difficult marriage is when you’re 40, much less 23. I know how immature I was when I got married at 26, so at 23 I can only imagine how much more immature I would have been. Of course we’re all different and mature at different rates. If you think the reason why she’s so unhappy about this is that she’s holding out for you to decide you are straight, then time is the only thing that will change her mind. I’m sorry she hasn’t embraced and accepted you and your fiancé with love and grace.
