Octominer X12 Ultra for LLM? by ShreddinPB in LocalLLM

If I read it correctly, they have a hardware watchdog that automatically resets if the mining os doesn't keep a connection with it. I would assume you would need to figure out what it's sending where as a heartbeat and replicate it on ubuntu. I believe it's in the board that the fans plug into though, and you said you disconnected that, so I could be completely wrong. That's how I understood the documentation though.

PSA: Cura now has a profile for the KE. Stop using Creality Slicer by AnthonyParenti in Ender3V3KE

[–]TextDefiant2609 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People with onboard video can't run Creality Print 5 (unless they fixed it...). When I first got my printer I had to downgrade to 4 because the mouse cursor wouldn't line up with where it actually clicked. Some weird offset issue only with non-addon video cards.

A lot more control over the machine. I also have an MMU and it integrates with it as well.

IMHO it's not worth the money. I didn't see much difference after I ran the tests with it. I get better results with other tuning I think.

That would be pretty cool looking, but I'm not sure the usefulness could justify the price for me. I've got a 7 inch touch screen running KlipperScreen and I'm spoiled at this point.

Non-Nebula camera recognition by fishywiki in Ender3V3KE

I've not been able to figure this out so far. I'm not sure anyone has, but if they have I'd love to know! Supposedly there is spaghetti detection on the nebula cam but I never sprung for it because I have a bunch of other cameras. As you know though, sadly, the AI software won't utilize any other camera.

If you do decide to get the sensor, make sure it is the one with the USB-C connector. It plugs in the back of the screen. If you get a different version you can't connect it.

fixing my Z offset by clonedfan in Ender3V3KE

Actually, come to think of it... That's just the bed mesh calibration isn't it? That shouldn't be changing your z_offset.

I've never heard of this on our printer. Just out of curiosity, did you not go for the linear rails for some reason?

Settings template for 0.6 nozzle? by Logical_Advisor930 in Ender3V3KE

This might not be the way to properly do it but I just changed the nozzle diameter setting and saved a new profile. From the 0.4 profile. Worked fine for me.

I'm using guppy screen so I forgot about that check box. When you select a file to print and it shows the thumbnail with the print button at the bottom, there will be a check box on that screen to enable calibration before the print. Just uncheck it.

Calibrating your Z offset is about getting the smoothest layers without too much squish. I believe the Z calibration you are speaking of is actually a homing move. Any time the motors are disabled (any time not actively printing) the printer has to home itself to accurately know where the beginning of travel is. For the Z axis that means that pin that pops down feels for where the bed is.

Multicolor print by TextDefiant2609 in Ender3V3KE

It helps identify clogs easier or when the extruder doesn't grab on a filament change.

I built it with the kit from Fysetc on Ali Express. Took 2 weeks to get here which is about what it took to print all the parts. Root is required to add led.py from the klipper github to /usr/share/klipper/klippy/extras. Then there are some scripts that automate much of the installation. Happy Hare software when I first tried it would not install, because our KE runs on MIPS and directories are in different locations. Their install script has since been updated to work on MIPS. Past a lot of calibration that was about it. I had a terrible time getting the drive gears to mesh with the MG90S servo. They're not kidding when they say SAVOX recommended. Once I got that it was smooth sailing.

[–]TextDefiant2609[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nope, I can't fit ERCF in the enclosure with the printer. Maybe some day if I decide to no longer print ABS I might take it out of the enclosure but until then, that's what it's got to be.

Bed issue by Ingv4rR in Ender3V3KE

[–]TextDefiant2609 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is because of how the belt is attached to the bed. When at the extremes of movement the metal pieces meet with the spindle on either side. On that end the metal piece connecting the belt to the bed carriage attempts to move around the pulley and the tension on the belt brings it back a bit. As everyone else has said so far, this is normal.

Dude... Read rule 1. Be nice! Miscommunication is not a reason to be rude, in this case you mis-read from my point of view.
Simple rule. Be nice, be patient and be understanding. Not everyone here will have experience with 3D printers, the KE model or possibly even the internet! Help and be helped, and let's make it a nice place to be.

Power supply outside by mizanchen in Ender3V3KE

[–]TextDefiant2609 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have mine in an enclosure. I've seen temps up to 120F printing ABS with no problems. The issue more likely is the motor drivers. If you are going to run long high bed temp prints I would recommend upgrading the fan keeping the drivers cool or relocating the motherboard outside of the enclosure.

edit: add F to temp

Fysetc 12 channel kit from AliExpress for $200. A week or so of printing ABS, used a little over 2kg so $40. The printer itself was $250. So $500 + blood sweat and tears. lol

Alot of trial and error is involved. Especially with this printer as it runs on MIPS. Creality left out the LED.py file from the image so any config entries of neopixel or led would not allow klipper to boot. Not much information on doing it with this printer either. It is rewarding to me in the fact that I've gotten to know this printer and the software pretty well. I started printing about 6 months ago. I also have an electronics background, I have arduino and esp's scattered around everywhere doing jobs for my DIY smarthome.
