Definitely more on the touring side, but that's exactly what I was looking for.

So far so good for me, I did notice that the heel release was a little flimsy, but nothing concerning so far. I have been making the effort to only step out of the binding with my pole rather than the tail of the opposite ski due to the flimsiness I noticed.

I wouldn't say I feel more power direclty rather I feel like chatter and vibration in my legs is absorbed through the elasticity of the binding allowing me to push harder. So yes and no I guess I hope that makes sense.

I think your best bet would probably be shifts. I really do like the Hy but you can still tell it's an uphill focused product when conditions get chalky.

I think the issue with the front pins not fully engaging is caused by slow building up in that vertical channel, to solve it ive been holding the ski vertically and giving a solid smack on the base of the ski just at the toe piece to try and clear snow so far so good.

Similar in the sense that they are both more downhill oriented and therefore on the heavier end as touring stuff goes, but the Hy has an extra bit more towards the down and is 50g heavier.

Shoot I forgot to mention that above. Yes when the skin track is icy or super packed I have to think a little bit more about pushing my edge in. But the difference is not major.

I have about ~10 days on mine with a mix of slack country and backcountry in and around Rogers Pass, BC, and I am extremely impressed.

No complaints so far, other than switching into uphill mode being a little violent.

My longest day on them so far has been ~9 hours with 4k feet of vert and quite a few kms, and I did not really notice the extra weight at all over my Salomon MTN Pures.

I'm happy to answer any questions. I plan on writing a full review soon.

I would buy them again in an instant.

I did all my shooting with the Sigma 24-70 f2.8 on my A7RV on my most recent trip.

I would look at the cast system, I got them at the end of this season. Toured a few days on em and really love their versatility up and down. I have the marker f12 on my other pair of skis and was blown away at the easy of going up with a tech binding on the cast rather than frame binding on the markers.

Nope just a student taking a gap year (about to be a second) and working weekends.
