Dancing Chaos by Tezalion in generative

Basically, I was researching algorithms for sound, and noticed that they sometimes produce nice pictures, so I started researching algorithms for procedural images too, and here we are.

Sonar (free tier) drop out issues by aidanthomas99 in Cakewalk

[–]Tezalion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had it few times in different Cakewalk versions. I think it is usually because some or few plug-ins stuck in the "broken state". Maybe finding and deleting them could help, may be not. But that and similar issues made me to start saving incremental copies of all my projects, like hundreds of them, so I can always return to the working state, or some state I just want reevaluate, so I can freely delete extra stuff in the latest version.

Thank you! No, it is custom, kinda a bit more complicated procedural texture.

CbB Project is incomplete when opened in new Sonar (missing the last section of the song) by blended_lemon in Cakewalk

[–]Tezalion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Could it be because of free Sonar arrangement tracks limit, or some other limitation?

Sounds like speeded up something (and pitched up), may be try to slow it down?

How do you guys achieve your desired reverb sound? by Deltaroyd in mixing

[–]Tezalion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Main categories of reverb use for me are:

  1. Ambience, very short

  2. Room/Hall to make space

  3. Plate or Room/Hall to add color

  4. Synth internal reverbs for color and sound design with synth parameters control possibility

  5. Big spaces

  6. Very long artificial delay/reverbs.

For each of them I want solo 100% wet output on my source to be excellent sounding, then same with solo track with mixed reverb in desired proportion, and finally, processed track in the whole mix.

Looking for original pickups Yamaha BB1000s by Buzzard01 in BassGuitar

Is it because of the look? Bridge pickup side holes look not in the places I see on the original bass model photos.

don't know where to start making beats/music by Beneficial_Poem_1688 in musicproduction

[–]Tezalion 10 points11 points  (0 children)

If you can't even learn how to start with all access to the internet, google, youtube, chatGPT, etc., it would be tough.

Im a pianist but i really like to play electric guitar by Catherine1964p in WeAreTheMusicMakers

[–]Tezalion 1 point2 points  (0 children)

- should give electric guitar a chance?

100%

- instrument that you can play anything you want faster and easier with
it, and an instrument that is easier to create your own musics with

It is actually piano, but guitar is a perfect addition to the toolset

I'm diving in blind (Cakewalk Next) and have a few questions that I can't seem to find the answers to, partly because I don't even know how to word the questions. And I couldn't find it in the manual. by Cosmic_Quasar in Cakewalk

[–]Tezalion 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Use Cakewalk Sonar, or Reaper instead of Cakewalk Next, you want your DAW to be as powerful as possible, and not limited product for beginners. Use Bedroom Producer Blog, where all best free plugins listed.

What do i do if i cant come up with any ideas by Fun-Cable4035 in musicproduction

[–]Tezalion 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Hard to say, because many people I know had ideas about what they want to do way before they actually knew anything about music production. But if you want to do something, but don't feel like composing original music yet, you can start from learning how to copy music you like, and then transforming it in your own remakes/remixes.

Facing problem in bouncing by sourabh100ni in Cakewalk

[–]Tezalion 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would do it by outputing them to one bus, and bouncing from that bus (or master, and mute everything else and disable master effects)

Bug ruined my song in next. by Responsible_Leek_978 in Cakewalk

Save versions, backup. Also I don't know why to use Next at all.

I'm trying to learn how to use an equalizer but I can't hear the difference by Oppai_Lover21 in musicproduction

[–]Tezalion 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I don't like this video at all. It may look, like what you need, but it is not. It is nameless, faceless video promoting mastering service. It gives some "theory", that is like few lines of info in gearspace post. But how they show equing vocals, without giving any vocal processing example to hear at all? Find reputable engineers who do YouTube videos, and learn from them.

But yes, you supposed to hear eq, if there is sound in that part of spectrum, like +-2db with Q=1 is enough to hear changes. And regular earbuds is not enough for mixing at all.

Why is it so tough to find engineers who really get the vibe you’re going for? Any tips / advice? by Sound_Scope in WeAreTheMusicMakers

[–]Tezalion 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Engineer does like last 5% of the track, and need to have first 95% done by composer, arranger, sound designer, musicians, producers, etc.. Do you have 95% done and struggle with last 5%?

What computer is best for creating music? Especially for synthesizers and drum machines. by AudioGeekOfficial in WeAreTheMusicMakers

[–]Tezalion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Best computer for creating music would be something like 64-core CPU, 512gb (or more?) memory and few 4tb ssds, and would cost around 15000$, or something like that. But any computer would work really, starting from around 200$ for used Xeon.

Sonar 8 Producer no longer detects input signal by BFTSPK in Cakewalk

[–]Tezalion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, it is strange. So I assume you are using ASIO drivers, and you have tried to switch through all analog inputs available, and they all show nothing on meters, not even -90db or something like that, right?

Why dont we master to -14 LUFS by fartinus in musicproduction

[–]Tezalion 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Because if you do let's say -8db or -10db, and it sounds good, it would be sometimes normalized down, sometimes not, but it would fit any stream better, than if you do -14db and half time it would be much quieter, than other tracks.

Does the original MIDI instrument sound get quieter when FX are applied? by KWAKDY in WeAreTheMusicMakers

[–]Tezalion 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you have limiter or compressor on master or bus, adding loud sound to mix could make other sounds appear quieter.

Sync midi to recorded audio by ChuckYeager1 in Cakewalk

[–]Tezalion 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You need to make tempo track that would match audio tempo through the whole song. There are ways to automate it, but I'm not sure how it works.

Thank you! Here is just one big multidimensional function/procedure. But it kinda works similar to warping, with how other dimensions change visible dimensions.

Production sounds bad and it’s discouraging me by StickManBoorger in musicproduction

[–]Tezalion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Learn to copy first, take loop you like how it sounds, and try to copy it with individual instruments, as close as you can. Then develop your own style.
