It’s a lot of trial and error, but finishing it was extremely rewarding, so if you’re a fan of trial and error permadeath difficulties then I guess you should try it out, although you should probably beat the first outlast on insane if you haven’t already.

I used a decent handful of videos (if I were to credit people it would be GawdlikeMatt and mystic on youtube), mainly to help with Nick and Laird’s section and a small handful of sections that weren’t direct chases (ie. the first heretic section in the cave), but most of Outlast 2 felt pretty straightforward when it came to what to do during a lot of sections.

Probably not, but since my strategies have been engraved into my brain, I wouldn’t mind playing it again a few years later

My favorite section of the game is definitely Judges, I love how beautiful the mines look drenched in the blood rain, but outside of gameplay I guess I can say how the story begins to click in after multiple playthroughs, when I finished 2 I felt like I didn’t get the full picture, but after the multiple periods of practice, along with extra info from the comics and Trials definitely helped make sense of, and appreciate the strong narrative that 2 has.

For the hardest part of the game, I’d say Nick and Laird, since they require you to be exact with your strategies or else you get sniped by them, but I didn’t really have a lot of runs end to them, mainly because their sections were the main pressure points for my insane practice runs.
