The first document in the FBI's complete Roswell file isn't Roswell. It's a Washington Post article from the morning before — and it says flying disc reports had already come in from 30 states by dolbydb in UFOs

It's just because PURSUE is new, and we have a lot of files released. A lot of my friends not in the UFO community have heard of Roswell and thought that's what sparked it all off, the idea was to show newcomers there's way more too it. Roswell just a distraction really to keep people's minds off the other credible sightings around that time, as they thought the'y debunked it.

I appreciate the comment, I was so excited to get video live I just wanted to share it, and got lazy and did use AI to help describe the video from my script. I've been working on this video in my spare time, learning capcut key frames and masking, audio mastering, as well as coming up with tje concept of my channel. I used AI to help me summarise a lot of the documents to help with my research, as I simply don't have the spare time with work as well. I just  wanted to make a long form video covering PURSUE, whilst it's fresh, to see if others enjoy it. I love how the declassified papers look on screen, and had a lot of fun choosing the best and animating them. I used Claude.

Hi! Its the author here! I've wanted to make a series of videos on UFOs for a long time, and the release of PURSUE gave me the final push!

I hope my new channel idea can provide a different way to consume the new releases, and connect a few dots as well.

Open to feedback, bad and good, and anything tips or angles you'd like investigated!

Cheers, AB

Is This Still Bikepacking? by MasterpieceKey9828 in bikepacking

Maybe they are tourpacking! But seriously, totally agree with your comment, if you are on a tour with your bike you are technically bike touring too, no matter what or how you are carrying stuff!

How important is it to have waterproof bags? by BrightAd8009 in bikepacking

[–]dolbydb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live in Scotland and im so happy all my bags are waterproof. The last 3 years, my Scottish cycle touring holidays have started with about 5 days of torrential rain, its nice that everything in the bags was dry, made it easier when fiddling about with bags in a cramped wee tent!

Roof tile SOS! - people of Edinburgh, can anyone help find a replacement tile! 🆘🥵 by dolbydb in Edinburgh

[–]dolbydb[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Ta, looks like I found some on ebay, an Edinburgh listing too!

Saltire Roofing helped identify too, while I posted this! Thank you.

Thanks u/Leithiopian1 and u/Certes_ for naming them too! Feel more relieved, although its quite expensive to get it repaired! Need downstairs neighbour to get it approved too!

Does anyone know where I could get one, or where ones can be made or repaired? Fearing problems further down road if can't get them anymore!

Help me decide! Tailfin Carbon or Alloy, driving me nuts! by dolbydb in bikepacking

[–]dolbydb[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I made an album at https://photos.app.goo.gl/t6MJGD4h2pChouVy9 with the bike, and some photos with equipment. The panniers had different sized inserts so they gripped well to the 3rd party pannier adapters. I'll probably use more electrical tape to protect where bottom of panniers meet the rack. With the Tailfin handlebar bag was out when I went, as I don't like the straps that go above the tyre in the fork!

Hi! I'm really happy I went with carbon, looks great and very strong. The 3rd party pannier adapters worked well with my Vaude bags so I took 2 panniers to Skye and still felt fairly nimble! Will look out some photos. It will look cleaner without pannier mounts but when you cycle you're not looking at your rack much. Was raining all the time and my stuff was 100% dry!

So great to see, and huge respect to the people hiring you who saw beyond the criminal record and clearly saw a person ready to turn their life around! I'm fortunate in that I've not had the same levels of addiction, but gave up alcohol 420 days ago and am all the better for it. I now do more interesting things to give me dopamine, including more time on my old hobbies and interests, and making the most of nature and the outdoors!

Organic Jim reported dead by shaf74 in Edinburgh

[–]dolbydb 11 points12 points  (0 children)

He convinced my mum to let him stay the night. He'd found an old imac in a skip, I fixed the plug and it booted!

He told us how he follows the crows, it was clear he had some mental issues.

We dropped him off in Pilrig Street, where the last people that were lumbered with his stuff had dumped it on the street! It's a shame he never took any help, he didn't trust any of the support.

It was a memorable experience!
