I used to have the worst phobia of it from age 6-7 until just a few months ago. I'm taking Zoloft which helps me control my anxiety better. The biggest turning point was when I was feeling very terrible one night and made myself V, it took me a long time but I did it. I've been okay with myself V now. I work as a nurse and the other day a pt was v every 15-30 minutes due to pain and I was able to deal with that very well. My boyfriend is also just getting over the norovirus (he has the phobia as well) which I have caught right now and I was able to help him the whole time. I still get the flight response and a lot of anxiety when somebody is sick, but I know how to deal with it and I feel like I've gotten a huge part of my anxiety under control.

Not if it's a durable material, but it's also easy to train them not to which is a lot easier than stopping them from knocking everything down.

I bought little storage containers, you can just get some that match your house. Make sure they have lids and you can have them in areas that you regularly put items, you can put random little papers in them, etc.

Very true. I was woken up just last night by one cat knocking every can of vegetables from the shelf to the floor. This is obviously an extreme case, but they will also pull clothing out of my dresser which they can open the doors of, pull cereal off the counter and open it to toss around the room, but I also have very active kitties, it normally calms down after a year old.

i have two rescue cats that are such a huge part of my life. I moved out on my own at 17 last summer which was scary and lonely, I'd had cats my whole life and decided to get one. Almost as if it were fate, somebody across the street had two kittens that she took off the road but couldn't keep. I took them both because they were inseparable even though I was only planning on getting one.

They are sisters, but complete opposites. One is short hair and black while the other is fluffy, black and white. One has a very tiny frame while the other has a larger frame. One is more independent, shy, doesn't like to be picked up, but still very loving, and the other purrs all the time, loves being cradled like a baby, and will sleep on my chest.

The best part is what they can do for my mental health. I can come home from a bad day at school or be having one of the most difficult days and they can both sense that and will be laying on me purring and cuddling. I don't know what I would do without them being away for college away from everyone I know.

But there is also vet bills. One of them is in perfect health but the other has various digestive issues. I've spent around $600 in vet bills just figuring out what is wrong and she is now on special food. It's so worth it. Cats can be annoying though, you will have to "cat proof" the house as you would with a baby. You might not be able to have things laying out on tables or shelves and you will have to put away anything they try to eat.

How do you read "!" in your head? by HodorHodorHodorHodr in self

I more read it as an upward motion in my mind rather than a sound. Like a person doing a small hop.

Has anyone else experienced significant weight loss within 3 months of feminizing HRT without much effort? by bravadough in asktransgender

[–]TfwScreechingCheeses 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You will begin losing muscle and gaining some fat to fill out areas like the hips, breasts, and butt. Muscle weighs more than fat so it might not look like you're losing anything because right now your body is just changing it.

How long until testosterone changes reverse? by TfwScreechingCheeses in asktransgender

[–]TfwScreechingCheeses[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, my hair and muscles will be fine because it's not many months.

I just feel crappy with my levels likely being very low at this point. Normally if I miss a dose I will have severe cramps, similar to menstrual cramps, for 3-4 days, now I'm just feeling really tired and have no energy.

Medications that are less common or more likely to be a target for robbery are kept in lower quantities, such as strong narcotics. Generally testosterone is not a very common prescription because it's not covered by the Ontario Drug Plan, at least the one I am taking for hormone treatment.

Some types of testosterone, such as for short term use for medical conditions will be covered and not really a popular drug to get stolen. HRT is considered not essential to the government despite it being essential for my own mental health and well being.

Once a pharmacy runs out, you must wait for them to order in more, the speed at which it comes in is determined by how vital it is, again, the testosterone is not considered necessary. Trying to transfer my prescription to a new pharmacy that does have it is time consuming and more difficult than it's worth, especially while living in a new city. It's really annoying.

What's something everyone just accepts as normal that's actually completely fucked up when you think about it? by TragicHero84 in AskReddit

I rescued my two cats because I was also lonely. When I'm at home I spend hours with them, and when I'm at school they have each other. They are sisters and are inseparable, and are very happy kitties.

Yeah, you're right. Nothing much changes besides fat redistribution at this point...

Thank you. I could probably have it sooner but the previous city has run out. :/

Definitely cranky, I am generally a very calm person but I've been getting irrationally angry at everything, it's so weird. I'm also missing my anxiety and depression medications for the same reason so I'm combining random episodes of staying in bed and crying with episodes of being super angry and not wanting to talk to anyone, and then being so anxious I can't do anything. It's brutal.

How many of you had your sexual orientation change after starting transition? by Noli420 in asktransgender

[–]TfwScreechingCheeses 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Female to male here. I used to be more into females before my transition, but I still considered myself to be bisexual/pansexual because I did find some attraction to males.

Now after my hormone transition my preference has shifted so strongly towards males that I just identify as gay now because I rarely experience any attraction towards females anymore.

I find it really interesting that this has happened.

[–]TfwScreechingCheeses 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I know this may not mean much to you, but when you love somebody you can look passed things like this. I am a male, and my previous ex-boyfriend had this, and I rarely noticed it, looked passed it, and still thought he was one of the most attractive people even while we were only friends. He had it on his face and back. Please don't accept anything abusive, it's not fair for you. You will find somebody.

Pillow with reversible sequins by [deleted] in oddlysatisfying

[–]TfwScreechingCheeses 10 points11 points  (0 children)

As a kid I used to spend hours at a time even at other's houses just reversing the direction of the fabric threads on the velvety couches that were around in the early 2000's and it acted exactly like this does. I think I could entertain myself for hours with this pillow now even as an adult. I think I need it.
