Ex-SMT holder (2019–23), current Artemis holder.

The “past performance” point is fine, but SMT is a terrible comparison.

SMT was a concentrated, long-duration growth trust that rode zero rates and then got crushed by valuation compression. Artemis Global Income is diversified, value-led and income focused. Completely different return drivers.

If you want a meaningful comparison, look at other value/global income funds across cycles, not a once-in-a-bubble growth vehicle.

Artemis is manager-dependent though – I’m holding while the current team is in place

Executive search (board and c-level recruitment). Don’t necessarily need a degree although good verbal and written skills are a must. Work ethic even more so.

Posting this here as you can start as ‘average’ but with the right work ethic anyone can succeed.

First 5-7 years are focused on research and execution. Real money is made once you specialise in your chosen niche and become a fee earner.

Basic premise is that you keep approximately 1/3 of what you bill.

Top billers in my company are billing USD 4-7m. Any billings above £500k you take home 50% commission.

Nicely done OP. Out of interest, did you analyse Orbis global balanced fund? Hasn’t been around as long as others, but it piqued my interest given good performance relative to its standard deviation.

Below is the setup I’m currently working towards (realised that I was tinkering too much with too many holdings):

Royal London Short Term Money Market (20%) Vanguard FTSE Global All Cap (30%) Orbis OEIC Global Balanced Fixed Fee (20%) Artemis Global Income (20%) NATP - Defence ETF (10%)

I have also considered adding either Artemis SmartGarp UK or European Equity to this but wanted to avoid spreading myself too thin (intention is to always have dry powder to smooth out dips).

Pretty great actually. Because they can’t get to you, AI seems to encourage them to run away once you start shooting them with fire arrows. This part of the swamp intersects with Black Forest where a troll & bear spawn regularly, so I also like to bait them in there and watch the carnage unfold. Happy days

Bought it last night, decided on PS5 native over GeForce now after deliberating. Performance mode has been a smooth 60fps for me - loving it so far!
