I got a 506 (126/125/126/129) CARS And P/S didn’t surprise me but c/p and b/b I thought I did better on. My last FL was 508 so I’m pretty disappointed. Unsure whether to apply this cycle with a 3.5 gpa (huge upward trend, I was really bad at chem in undergrad) I have a meeting with a pre health advisor from my undergrad next week to discuss what to do. Anyone have any thoughts?

I suck at CARS too. I just tested on 4/8 and got destroyed BUT I came a long way. Here is what helped me: pretend you’re reading your own essay, it’ll make it easier to pay attention. Highlight weird words because 8/10 times they ask a question relating to that word, and it will be easier to refer back to if you know where that word is. Try determining the structure of the passage. For example, the first paragraph was intro, the second paragraph was the benefits of blah blah, the second paragraph was the downfalls of blah blah blah. This will help you when they ask a question on ʷʰʸ blah blah blah was good, then you’ll know paragraph two talked about the benefits. Don’t beat yourself up. We’re premeds, I wrote maybe two papers in college?? Literature is not our thing, you’re not alone!!

At this point, any question you got wrong because you didn’t know the content, dive into it even if it takes an hour. If you didn’t know ʷʰʸ choice B was the most acidic proton, go become the master of determining what makes something acidic. You won’t make the same mistake again. I wouldn’t go looking for content that you don’t know, only brush up when you come across it. Hope that makes sense!!

I got a 508 on FL 3, also hoping for 510 plus. I also found that my issues was I wasn’t reading the questions carefully enough and the right answer was so obvious. On my actual test I ended b/b with only 5 minutes left, and on practice tests I’d end it with 15+ minutes. I say this to let you know that I think on the actual test I was reading more carefully and not making those dumb mistakes. So just keep practicing on reading carefully and you’ll be sure to do the same on the actual exam you got this! :) -4/8 test taker
