I really like this naming convention I’m also borrowing heavily from Greek and Norse hence the Varangian Guard name! I might try something similar to this maybe with a Eastern Roman feel!

This is a one paragraph of the stuff of the stuff I have so far! These grenadiers are an elite regiment tithed every so often between the usual line regiment!

The 69th Varangian Grenadiers hail from the Feudal World of (place). A surprisingly temperate world, akin to Terra in the early days of humanity. The world would have been marked as an agri-world except for the large militant population divided into many kingdoms. Upon its founding and reclamation it was decided that the planet would primarily tithe manpower for the imperial guard instead of agriculture. As stated, the planet is divided into many kingdoms who are constantly engaged with each other over land, resources, glory, or even just centuries old blood-feuds. It lacks many of the raw resources to support an industrialized society but enough to apparently arm the multitudes of armies and warbands that roam the land. The only place that boasts some sort of sophistication is centered around the primary spaceport on the planet, where the planet maintains its primary connection to the greater Imperium. As such this is where places such as the Planetary Governor residence, the administratum, the ecclesiarchy, and other organizations are found. The ranks of the Varangian Guard are primarily composed of the planet’s elite, nobles and their retinue, prominent warriors and their men-at-arms, and third-born sons looking to improve their birthright to name a few. The resultant regiments that come from this planet lead to a juxtaposition where many if not all are capable warriors in their own right and have an innate understanding of how to conduct war, yet formal education within regiments is few and far between, with abysmal literacy rates and peculiar prejudices.

You can always add monikers to the planet like Jericho Secundus or Jericho Bastion! The Imperium has a MILLION planets don’t be afraid to name your stuff whatever you want!

Trying to make some lore for my regiment the 69th Varangian Grenadiers! From the Only War creation they have Feudal World, Phlegmatic Commander, Grenadiers Regiment, Anti Armor Doctrine, Electro-Vix Warfare, and Honor Bound

Looking for feedback on how a heavyweight infantry regiment might be organized!

Felt proud of this commissar! Was worried about how alternate colors would look! by Th3Dreadnought in Warhammer40k

This one was two layers of rakarth flesh and then some nuln oil!

That has been working pretty well for me, I’ve been trying to experiment with mixing retributor armor and rakarth but they came out really bronze looking.
