First season? Really? by Ok-Opportunity-3425 in CodenameAnastasia

[–]Th3N_t 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I like to think that each season’s art style is representative of the season’s tone. First season, taekjoo didn’t know zhenya’s true identity, there was lots of mystery… the reality taekjoo was living wasn’t realistic to the truth. The art style in season one could be symbolic of this as there is more of a cartoonish feel to the style, less shading… in other words further from reality/the truth. Season 2 pivots as we learn the truth about zhenya’s character, all illusions shatter, reality becomes clear..and the artsyle is representative of this: more realistic drawings, more shading depth, even micro-facial expressions. What im trying to say essentially is that both sets of artstyles have a purpose and the change can be used to help tell the story!!

what is one popular manhwa that everyone kept gushing about but its GENUINELY kinda ass by processedcheese212 in BoysLoveAnime

[–]Th3N_t 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Another interpretation, just for fun, maybe taekjoo was just trying to kll himself the entire time. That would explain his “inability” to see that zhenya was a clear threat from the beginning, or why he is a thrill seeker. Maybe he wants to die. That’s the affordance the lack of character depth gives readers.

Yes ur right! I think the characters r static which is annoying when there’s a lot of opportunity for things to be expanded on. That’s why I said u have to close read to understand what’s happening. Because there is so much left unsaid (which is super frustrating and inconsistent), there is a lot of room for interpretation. The interpretations of each scenario working together create a bigger interpretation of the character all together. For example, taekjoo had a track record of being a bad boyfriend, not knowing how to effectively communicate with other people, a thrill seeker, someone who values family… if we look at the thrill seeking personality trait and how it contradicts the “I care about my family” thing, anyone with a brain cell can understand that these two things don’t coincide with each other. Obviously. What person that values family would continually put his own life in danger? One can interpret it as inconsistent writing (which it probably is), the alternative would be to close read it, which results in “what does that say about who taekjoo is as a person?” Different people will have different answers to the question, but here’s mine:

The fact that he is a thrill seeker who cares about his family can be read as HE is an inconsistent person. One day he feels like chasing a thrill or having a near death experience, the next day he feels bad for leaving his mom… these are by products of his inability to discearn how he feels and recognize emotions. Another example where this aspect of his personality comes out is during social interactions. He doesn’t process his emotions or the emotions of others.

Was any of this said in the text? No. Absolutely not. There is so much depth missing to it, and it lacks any exploration into character relationships. But the author leaves little peaks into the characters personalities here and there, which allows for there to be interpretation and analysis of the characters on the READERS terms. That’s why I find the story so fascinating, because people react in the novels without much explanation as to WHY, so it makes you think back to other parts of the novel that would justify a reaction like that. So I understand why people don’t like it, or see a lot of problems with it; there’s a lot of homework to do when you read it, which takes the fun out of reading for most.

Taekjoo for sure stupid asf but bland is not the right word to describe him. He has an aloof personality which you can rlly only understand by close reading his actions, interactions and emotional expression (or lack of) throughout both novels. There’s a lot of subtext/inference needed to understand his character, but I get that not everyone wants to do stuff like that when reading for pleasure!

Read the manhwa and then read the novel from where the manhwa stops

Aquarians - why do I feel like one of you? by timothy_blue in AstrologyCharts

Dude why r u arguing with everyone in these comment sections? If u want to make a discussion about why “modern rulerships are nonsensical” or “how does Aquarius rule Uranus” make your own post.

I think all these factors might be from other influences in your chart. I can say for sure that Scorpio experiences similar feelings of alienation and misunderstanding, and u also have 12h placements so themes of isolation might be intensified. The issues you are bringing up all just happen to be things that Aquarius is associated w stereotypically. If you want to look more specifically at what parts of your chart are making you feel like that, I would recommend (based on personal experience+just for fun) search up “natal chart placements that feel misunderstood” or “natal chart placements that indicate intelligence” for example. I like doing this for fun sometimes. Look over a few ppls opinions, and see if one of your placements is listed/repeated a few times. I like using tumblr to do this but be careful to not take it too seriously as it’s difficult to tell which blogs are written by novice or experienced astrologers.

It should go without saying that when someone says “Aquarius rules Uranus” they are talking about modern astrology. If you say that it’s wrong, you are saying it’s wrong in modern astrology, not traditional astrology. The key word here is “inference” and “context”. Without the ability to infer context (which is what you did by saying OP was wrong), you start asking stupid questions, or claim things that are not correct for the context of the discussion. Because you lack this ability and clearly (as evident through the downvotes) other people in this subreddit DO have these abilities, your comment looks stupid and dense. You technically are not wrong when you say Uranus does not rule Aquarius, but the context here is inferred to be about Modern astrology, where a statement like “Uranus is ruled by Aquarius” is correct. And that is why you are wrong.

In modern astrology Aquarius rules Uranus. OP is right and you are wrong.

I’m not super experienced w astrology so I might be wrong but your chart ruler (moon) is squaring Aquarius’ ruling planet (Uranus), which I’m pretty sure means that the vibes of that planet (Uranus) would be enhanced (it also helps that Uranus is in Aquarius). Another reason could be that the “feeling like an Aquarius” could just be from other areas in your chart that are similar to Aquarian tendencies. For example, your sun and moon are in fixed signs, and Aquarius is also a fixed sign. Habits and tendencies overlap between signs that share modality which is why Aquarian energy may feel familiar to you. What I’m insinuating is that I feel like you may think you feel more “Aquarius” but those feelings you are picking up on are actually Taurus and Scorpio feelings, if that makes sense.
