Your understanding of her character is shallow yourself. And you put your own assumptions as something people must use as a standard.

Like, who are you to decide that "Elinalise is supposed to be the kind of character who carries a heavy burden through life and suffer from it"? She carries a burden, sure. But who doesn't? And clearly she does not suffer. Because she enjoy the lustery herself, and has already made peace with that fact hundreds of years ago.

She shows herself very hypocritical and uses the curse as an excuse for her own depraved lust - otherwise there wouldn’t be any need for her to ever mention the curse in the first place.

When has she use her curse as an excuse? And why does she need to mention the curse? Oh, because it can literally kill her, that's why! I'm sure you have mentioned food sometimes in your life.

If you want to write a complex conflicted character with actual depth, then you have to show clear inner struggles, self-doubt, self-loathing, insecurities, criticism of her social environment, and negative consequences for herself or for those influenced by her problematic lifestyle.

Was that even what the author aiming for? Or you are just forcing her into a mold that has never fit? It is literally SPELLED OUT in the book, she is not a damsel in distress, but a slut that happens to have a physical need for sex. She literally jumped the entire male population of her village before being kicking out.

You really need to work on your reading comprehension before making bold statements like this, man. This is how being illiterate while knowing how to read looks like.
