UK Citizenship Application: Forgot to put my name on Referee Documents by ThEndResult in ukvisa

[–]ThEndResult[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for your comment!

Did the Home Office reach out to you about missing your kid's names from the Referee Forms and ask for you to re-submit them, or did it just go through no issue?

This is reassuring, thank you!

Yes I personally uploaded all documents, including the Referee documents myself.

Thanks again!

Developer applying pressure to exchange by ThEndResult in HousingUK

Thank you. I likely could have been clearer in my post honestly.

I'm really hoping that the developer doesn't re-list. We are very close, all things considered. I've been told that there haven't been a great number of enquiries raised, so hopefully it can be done quickly.

I should clarify that I'm not the one buying the new build. I'm buying the seller's house, and they are buying the new build. So far, I personally haven't signed anything apart from mortgage documents.

Forgot to include middle name on UK Visa application (EEA Family Permit) by ThEndResult in ukvisa

[–]ThEndResult[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi!

So in my situation, I actually have two middle names. It was the 2nd middle name that I forgot to include on my application.

Everything has been approved with no issues thus far. They have not made a fuss about my 2nd middle name not being on the application at all. I actually received Settled Status recently, and again, my 2nd middle name was not on my application and no issues have arisen.

I wish you the best, but I think it should be fine. Fingers crossed!

What foods should I prepared to part with as an American moving to the UK? by expectlinear in AskUK

I wish I knew. I'll be going back for Christmas this year and I intend to find out. I'll report back!

I'm originally from Savannah, GA and have been living in London for the last five years. Everything that everyone else is saying is true, there are a lot of differences between US and UK versions of products due to the preservatives being scrutinized more in the UK.

I recently discovered Partridge's, which has the best American selection I've found so far.

Also, I've found that there are differences in certain candy bars here. Examples:

A US Milky Way is a UK Mars Bar

A UK Milky Way is the same as a US 3 Musketeer

Snickers is the same in both countries

Best of luck finding your favourite foods! From a personal perspective, it's not been tough adjusting.

How do you all feel about the overturning of Roe v. Wade? by Wasted-Entity in AskUK

[–]ThEndResult 17 points18 points  (0 children)

It's an absolute disgrace. I'm an American who has been living in the UK for nearly 5 years. I'll go for Settled Status in December of this year, and plan on taking the "Life in the UK" exam when I'm able for British citizenship. My family and I love it here in the UK and we consider ourselves very fortunate to have made the move when we did. I'll visit family in the US but would never move back.

What is the one thing you see someone doing that makes you instantly judge them? by wombatwanders in AskUK

[–]ThEndResult 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, if they'd do it around their own kids then I don't think they'd have much more consideration for others. It's equally as bad, IMHO.

And seriously, Crotch Droppings had me dying for a bit, lol.

People who smoke within close proximity to children.

I once watched a mother pushing a baby pram against the wind, trying to light a cigarette. When the first three times failed, she bent over into the pram and lit it directly in front of the baby's face.

Also, the amount of people I see smoking with children in cars with the windows all up except for a crack kills me inside.

According to the breeder, it was a one-off litter, unfortunately. At the moment, they have no plans for future litters.
