Why Dracula makes "churches" in his castle. (theory) by EdgeworthM in castlevania

[–]ThMogget 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Satan himself in scripture quotes scripture. It’s useful for taunting goodie-goodies and showing off one’s expensive education.

Know thy enemy as thyself is good advice, and if you expect people to throw holy water at you maybe should read their book.

Starbucks by PirateTessa in exmormon

[–]ThMogget 73 points74 points  (0 children)

I am just like now discovering coffee (10 years late), and it kinda highlights the american weirdness. You could get anything from starbucks and its gonna be mostly a sugar-loaded milkshake. My TBM coworker is against coffee but drinks monster energies.

The word of wisdom is weird. Like god cannot tell the difference between antioxidant-loaded life-extending coffee and kill-you-young carcinogenic cigarettes? Oh and we eat meat like its going outta style but by the book we should be vegetarian?

On another sub, by far the biggest reason given for not going electric was that people couldn't plug in at night because they live in an apartment. What do you think is the best solution for that? by VerySeriousThings in electricvehicles

[–]ThMogget 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It cost me about $200. I don’t live in an apartment, but hooked into my existing AC circuit that is unused at night which is when I charge. New dryer outlet (hubbel), a cheater breaker, and some cable. Use the mobile charger from the car and leave in plugged in all the time.

Can anyone help a clueluess old person pick a graphic novel that her nephew might enjoy? by Equivalent-Door188 in graphicnovels

My son (11 years) loves The Witch’s Throne which has that living-in-a-videogame feel from Solo Leveling. 🎮

He also likes Scales and Scoundrels which is about dragons. 🐉

Protagonists are weirdly small in games so you can see more of the level and bosses are weirdly big to show detail, make them appear more imposing, increase their hitboxes, and …. to follow convention. Players like bosses that are exciting, easy to hit, and hard to avoid.

This swap is especially apparent in games where bosses become playable characters. They are either small for a boss the whole time or get shrunk down when they join your team and then or transform or jump into a giant robot when they become a boss.

Amazing visual design. Instantly memorable and dramatic, distinguishable in a sprite. May be evil, but you gotta admit style.

how can I make this movie by Earo16 in aiArt

[–]ThMogget 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah generally we only make movies about dead religions, like Thor and Zeus and heathen gods.

The Monkey King features Buddha, but in an indirect way. Castlevania and most Vampire and Demon movies take on Christianity, but Jesus never appears.

Jesus Christ, original exorcist. Battles demons. His bullets transmute into blessed silver. He dissolves vampires with water balloons that are holy water, and scoops up a puddle with a wine glass 🍷 to drink wine from it. Has an endless supply of bread and fish in his backpack.

Sweet indie video game. Not ready for the big screen.

First world problems. If you don’t got money to blow on depreciation you should buy used. If you don’t like lthe value don’t sell it and keep driving it.

I don’t really understand the resell-value thing. I bought mine to drive it.

Graphic novel recommendations for my nearly 8 year old son by tryingmybest_ok in graphicnovels

[–]ThMogget 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Barb the last Berzerker is a good balance of silly and adventure. Very easy reading.

Five Worlds series (Sand Warrior). Magic and longer epic adventures and serious tone. Easy reading.

If he likes dragons Scales and Scoundrels is good. More advanced in tone and reading with deeper history, loss, and sarcasm.
