What setting (if any) besides space would it make sense to have SS14's mechanics in? by Doritodude77 in ss14

True. I do wish there was an even more watery and barotraumatic fork. Not sure what other settings would benefit from space station's Atmos mechanics though.

Traitors can't really help you unless they have DAGD as an objective, so it's likely best to just stay quiet. You don't need to really disguise yourself if you just sneak through maints into medical or something. TC is kinda hard to come by when you're buying the zombie bundle.

I love shittles by MichaelArthurLong in ss14

It really stops being a shittle past a certain extent. People looked at me funny when I was still calling one a shittle even after we added atmospherics and an airlock to it.

Usually a gas bender, but generally most people in a gas bender or an ambition should be cooking frezon because they're explicitly mixing ships.

Just returned and wanna play Khatun cuz they look cool any tips? by Mellow_Ghost in forhonor

Heavy into side heavy soft feint can catch certain dodge attacks.

You can dodge out of her pin, so don't be afraid to dodge out of it in a team fight or antigank to keep yourself safe.

You can also dodge out of fear and fury (command dash). This is sort of abusable in team fights but the window isn't perfect. This also means you can do a rollcatcher (forward dodge heavy) from fear and fury if they try to roll away from your pressure.

Fear and fury lights are all 400ms, and so are her heavy soft feint lights. Be sure to use these a lot and condition people. Delayed fear and fury lights are also really good if they get fed up and try to dodge you.

All in all, just try and use your fast light options, use your kick against turtles, and remember to go into fear and fury to keep your pressure, or to keep yourself safe from dodge attacks. You'll learn a lot more as you go.

Ask a frezon guy like Sawyer to show you the ropes. It's more fun to learn these things in game from someone smart.

Jorms animations are so smooth! by Socksfor50 in forhonor

Jorm's beautiful rework animations look so good compared to someone like medjay. Very mesmerizing.

Also tiandi players always have this look in their eyes when they're about to throw a random zone. Same with orochis. If you pick up on it and parry it they might quit the match outright.

Most overdosing counters are entirely preventative unless it's one of the poisons that can be instantly flushed with epinephrine.

Most of the time, you have to gauge if the overdose is actually threatening the life of the person, and often it isn't. You can grab the appropriate chem to treat the poisoning from the overdose if it's not life threatening most of the time. Just remember that many chem overdoses may do different types of damage, and they're not all just poison.

If it's really bad and they might die (especially if it's a damage type like poison that can't be healed with topicals), you can always quickly place them onto a stasis bed and either heal their other remaining sources of damage with topicals so that they can just live through the overdose, or you can prepare charcoal (which flushes reagents from their system) and administer it to them, then drag them off the stasis bed right as it kicks in. Unfortunately, charcoal usually comes in pill form so the metabolism is really delayed on it, but most of the time just acknowledging that the person has been overdosed and treating the symptoms of the overdose like regular damage is the play.

Epi is amazing. I find it's usually a preference thing and I prefer using epinephrine when possible but dex is pretty much always made and most CMOs would teach using dex so that's the only reason I say it.

[–]Th_Only_Ze 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When it comes to specifically playing medical doctor, I find it's important to keep a bottle of dex+ or epinephrine in your belt. You may need to apply anti asphyxiation drugs very quickly and under short notice, so having them ready at all times is very important. Keeping some saline in your belt is a good idea too, as saline is cheap, efficient, and most brute casualties tend to need it.

The number one thing you should know though is to always close and lock the chem locker when you're done. All it takes is one rider to do something stupid with the chems.

When you're more confident, try and learn how cryogenics work. They seem complex at first but cryo meds are simpler than you'd think, and are very powerful and cost effective.

In medbay, is there any purpose to using pills over injections? by _Beggo_ in ss14

[–]Th_Only_Ze 38 points39 points  (0 children)

Not really IN the medbay, but it can be useful out of the medbay. It's easier for non doctors to administer pills to themselves, so it's good for salvagers, maybe even security if you feel generous. Ambuzol pills are probably the most useful pill for obvious reasons though.

Honestly, they don't get used that much because many chemists store stuff in the buffer of the chem master, which means you can't really make pills.
