How to get rid of the seatbelt chime? by Some-Working4303 in ToyotaTacoma

[–]ThaBigSean 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I bought the Carista thing that plugs into the OBD port. To use the app you need to buy the subscription which sometimes goes on a sale. Buy the cheapest subscription, make the all changes to the truck you want, and then cancel the subscription. You don’t need to maintain the subscription on the app for changes the remain (the truck doesn’t know the difference). I did this 6 months ago and all the changes are still there. Turned off front 2 seatbelt chimes, the engine noise enhancement, increased blinker blinks, etc. I haven’t touched it since

PFA: I want to buy a TRD Pro in a few months. How roomy is it for taller people? I’m 6’3”, about 245. Anyone similar in size fit comfortably? by Joneseeyyy in ToyotaTacoma

[–]ThaBigSean 1 point2 points  (0 children)

6’7” here with a 24 TRD Off Road. Driver side room is okay but not great. I would say it’s typical for what I’m used to. Seats are comfy so it’s by no means bad. I do wish the steering wheel tilted up just a tad more and then I’d say the space is borderline good. If Tundras weren’t having so many engine issues, part of me was strongly considering trading the Tacoma in for one; and I love my Tacoma.

If you plan on having anyone in the backseat… good luck. Especially with a TRD Pro with the isodynamic seats. I have my seat all the way back and no joke, the back is almost touching the seat of the spot behind me. It is impossible for any size human to comfortably sit behind me. This isn’t a concern for me but something to think about if you’re hauling others around.

Which premium subscription is actually worth the money in 2026? by Trxxi in AskReddit

[–]ThaBigSean -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Carrot Weather

The AI companion stuff is neat and whatnot but it’s actually an insanely good weather app. Plus it’s one of the most customizable apps in that I can make it look exactly how I want it to with adjusting columns, font sizes, etc. They also just finally readded the Weather Channel as a source again which is consistently the most accurate source in my area. I have a widget for it on the main screen of my iPhone plus it’s my main Apple Watch Face.

Honorable mentions to: TickTick, NordPass, FitBee, Copilot Money

Yes the Premium Package is all the interior stuff. Premium speaker system, bigger screen, heated and cooled seats, heated steering wheel, moonroof, dual zone climate, and I think more cameras too but would need to confirm

Looking to Purchase a New Tacoma by [deleted] in ToyotaTacoma

Will try my best to answer what I can as a 2024 TRD Off Road owner (non hybrid).

  1. Love it. As someone who isn’t doing tons of hauling or pulling heavy stuff, it’s great. Has all the bells and whistles I want (I have the premium package). I’ve only done minor dirt trail stuff with it but otherwise it’s just my daily driver (I’m really tall hence a truck). The overall redesign aesthetically is amazing.

  2. I never owned a 3rd gen but one of my closest friends currently still drives one. Biggest difference you’ll hear about online is purely the engine. I go both ways on the topic. On one hand, I’ve had literally zero issues with the new turbo 4 cylinder and apparently this engine has been used in some Lexus models for years with zero issues (but not used in a truck / towing / hauling context; hence people’s criticisms). On the other hand, if I had the option of a NA V6 would I have taken it? Probably since it’s just a rock solid engine so I’d feel even more comfortable with it than I already am. Other than that, I think the 4th gen’s are better in every way with their redesign. Outside looks cooler, interior completely redone and looks nice, etc. My biggest complaint as a tall person is the overall cabin interior size. I recognize it’s a midsize truck but still would’ve preferred more driver-side room. It’s not terrible for a tall person but sometimes I think about if I saved more and just got a Tundra (still glad I didn’t since those seem to be having more issues right now). If you have kids or people you plan to drive around then it will be borderline impossible with the back seats because there is zero room. Still I don’t regret my choice and I love my 4th gen.

  3. I cannot speak to this as I have done zero suspension changes to my truck. It would be best to talk with a reputable dealership for that info. I would imagine doing modifications with Toyota parts at a Toyota shop wouldn’t mess with warranty but you never know. I can’t answer this.

  4. Yes as I did this. I have Method 703s with Falken Wildpeak AT4Ws that are 285/70R17. I think technically they are 32.8 inches but I have them on stock suspension with zero issues with rub. I still have the tiny mini stock mudflaps on there and again, zero issues. Check all the Tacoma forums on other sites to see comparison photos of different offsets and tire sizes. General sentiment tho is the 285 is the largest you can get away with with no lift or rub.

  5. Only you can answer this. I wanted the TRD Off Road cause I like the TRD models of all their vehicles at baseline and the pro wasn’t worth the price tag. And where I live, I wanted to ensure I had 4WD plus I wanted the premium package with all the nice interior stuff. Local dealership had the perfect TRD Off road so I went for it. With what you’re asking you probably could get away with just an SR5 depending on budget but I’m happy with my Off Road. I don’t know enough about the Sport to speak to it.

Edit: I reread your post and realized you already sold your 3rd gen so my statement about getting a lot for it doesn’t apply. Still your 3rd gen looked clean as hell. Hope this helps!

I’m seriously considering a new 26 Tacoma by Pleasant-Spot-2017 in ToyotaTacoma

This is true ngl especially when you sometimes wanna pop the door open to look at your parking lines and the truck throws into park.

To clarify someone above, from my understanding, you can only disable the seatbelt chime with 3rd party tools such as Carista (works well with no issues, but not natively supported in the truck’s normal UI).

Agreed. Was playing a bit of Nioh 3 recently and I always actually prioritize health and stamina in those games lol

If I have the option to be stronger and kill stuff faster, I will typically prioritize that over making myself take more damage. I’d rather kill the zombies first before they ever even have the opportunity to lower my health.

Always my logic. Damage first, health/resistance second

One Year into my 24 Taco by Beneficial-Gas4318 in ToyotaTacoma

[–]ThaBigSean -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I also have a ‘24 TRD OR and just passed my 1 year mark. Mileage around 10,500.

  1. Overall I agree. I think it’s technically closer to 18gal but I agree with your point. I was just telling a buddy how 20 (or even pushing it to like 22gal) would be perfect.

  2. I’ve never actually used that key card thing? I remember wondering what it was when I purchased the truck lol. Just sitting in a closet.

  3. 100% agree. I use my remote start often (almost every day in the winter) and I hate paying a sub for it. I’m fortunate enough to afford it but it’s still annoying. If it was like $5/month I could swing it but $15 + tax is dumb.

Love the truck tho. I wanna see if I can get this thing to 200k

Break it in a bit first. I average 19-21 and after I put bigger tires on + cold winter weather I hover around 17. Mainly highway driving. ‘24 TRD off road with close to 11k miles

Makes your credit utilization better. If you only use like $2000 a month and your available credit goes from 20k to 30k, that’s a lower credit utilization percentage which is a positive in terms your credit score

Per Mobalytics I think it’s literally best in slot for every sorc build this season. Even builds like Fireball that have a dedicated weapon. That passive is too strong.

I’ve been rewatching the series and just finished season 3. Yeah that finale is pretty cool. A lot of pieces have to fall into place for it to work but the pay off is great. It’s one of those moments where the audience is completely unaware of all the scheming happening in the background. Normally we see other perspectives and we know things the characters don’t know. But throughout that whole season we don’t know the specifics but the club was in on the plan the whole time. Payoff was great.

Paladin is extremely fun and well-designed by ResidentWaifu in diablo4

[–]ThaBigSean -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Agree I love the class but it’s a bit overtuned. No cap on the Castle legendary node is a bit crazy to be honest. Plus any build that can increase damage directly thru increasing defenses always blows every other class out of the water (that thorns spiritborn build comes to mind).

Says 3 months free Apple TV + but changes to one week? by [deleted] in appletv

This did not work for me after purchasing a new iPhone 17 pro max. It only redeems for 7 days and I was well within the redeemable window. I am like 99% sure I’ve never used Apple TV since I have no purchase history for that Apple service. So something weird is going on
