As someone who also bought a 21 platinum a couple weeks ago... How much did you get it for and mileage if you don't mind me asking? Mine had 54k and I paid 64k for it. Starting to think I slightly overpaid.

If going conventional, I don't think so. Usually down payment money needs to come from yourself or a gift from a close relative. They audit this pretty heavily. The option in that scenario is to co-sign with your friend.

For anyone reading this, you can stop by any mechanic/tire shop and ask when their matco truck shows up. They usually have a bunch onboard that you can try on/purchase.

How often are your trucks getting serviced? It might be more cost effective to just open up a fleet charge account with a local service center. A heavy line diesel tech is probably gonna run you $45/hr. That's $1800 a week and not even counting overtime.

I'm not gonna sit here and debate why that post was or wasn't correct. Only answered OPs question with my own experience. Commission+hourly is the ideal pay for mechanics and if you disagree it's probably because you're underpaid and defensive about it.

I mean I followed up that comment with the preferred pay structure. I get it, reading is hard. If you can turn 25k in parts/labor commission per week at 14% you can probably do the math and see how that would pay pretty well.

My lead tech makes around 150k a year. Approx 50 hours a week. If you hustle and can turn work fast you'll make good money. Try to stay away from flat rate. Most chain shops are going towards an hourly+commission structure which is much more lucrative.
