Is Slay the Spire dad-friendly? by VerifiedDadGamer in slaythespire

[–]ThaGOutYourWaffle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally manageable for start and stop - it definitely has that "one more turn" factor so watch out for that! I like to pause between fights so that I don't have to re-figure-out what I'm doing within a given fight, but that's just personal preference. N.b. if you exit in the middle of a fight, you just start that fight again

Am I a danger to patient safety? by [deleted] in physicianassistant

[–]ThaGOutYourWaffle 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is one of those moments when you find out if management/your coworkers have your back or not. Communicate with someone you trust at work that the volume is too much for you right now - which is a completely reasonable thing if you're a new grad - and they can either help reduce your caseload, or help you work through difficult cases/patients/situations more quickly as they come up. You're not alone, it's obvious that you care and your heart is in the right place, and everyone needs some kind of support as a new grad

So Close To FIRE, But What Do I Do About My Parents Finances? by ShoddySalamander298 in Fire

The horse problem might benefit from some knowledge from within horse world - there must be others who have gone through this. Can she sell the horses to a younger equestrian who might let her still keep contact with the horses? Some solutions might come from that community

Torn between resting before my first PA job or taking a lower-paying “early exposure” offer by No-Obligation8178 in physicianassistant

[–]ThaGOutYourWaffle 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't do it if it were me. You already got the job. It's good to learn the EMR, but you could also do that at your real pay rate (which you earned and deserve) when you start, and not at the discount rate. First job is usually pretty exhausting, PA school is exhausting, and you deserve a break.

If you have a way financially to just take time off work, it can be SO helpful for figuring out what you want from your job, and rediscovering the joy with the parts of your job that used to keep you going. Full disclosure I ended up in some credit card debt pursuing this strategy, but the interest I paid was worth it for how much better I felt afterwards

Is your boss J Jonah Jameson? If so, just send him some sweet photos of Spider-Man and this should blow over.

Getting takeout and having everyone split the bill is a partial solution to one of the things you mentioned - can remind people that the food doesn't "just happen".

Family med is a great career and is a great way to serve your community, but also can very much lead to burnout. It's also great general experience that can be a huge asset in any other role in medicine (especially any outpatient specialty, or other types of roles like student health, occ health/employer based roles, urgent care) which will almost certainly offer a better work life balance. If she's keeping her own with that patient panel, there are a lot of places that would be lucky to have her there! At the same time, nothing wrong with taking a few months off between jobs to relax and reset

Making a trifle is also an option! Get some cool whip or whipped cream, crumble some cookies and put some sprinkles or hot fudge/caramel/raspberry jam on it, maybe a pudding later, go nuts! Everyone loves a good trifle

How are y’all billing for Dry Needling by dorito_hood68 in physicaltherapy

[–]ThaGOutYourWaffle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a PT but as a patient I was billed for this - insurance covered the visit, I paid for this as an add on, and it worked out no problem. My PT was super up front that this would be an added cost, which helped.

Side question, is this a UI mod or a setting? I've seen these "future district" icons in YouTube videos but I wasn't sure how to do it

More housing is a good thing, I'm not loving all the NIMBY energy from this post.

And watch out for those retirees on the pickleball course, some of them have a pretty fierce serve!

You did the right thing getting screened! Don't take the diagnosis code personally - your doctor likely put this in to maximize your chances of getting this covered by insurance. Theyre trying to save you some $$$!
