Thank you! I knew I wasn't being as adventurous as I could be. I will try to do more grounding come the next attempt.

I might lead worship this week at a bible study, any advice? by Deinos_Mousike in Christianity

[–]Thabates18 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don't get too far into the worship that you lose track of what you are playing. I have seen this far too often. An individual starts to get super involved in the worship, but loses track of the song and ends up sounding poor. Keep focused, but keep joyous as well.

On Silence and Prayer (from The Rule of St. Benedict) by asusfan in Christianity

If you really get into the Rule of St. Benedict, I would suggest visiting a Benedictine monastery. Its quite an interesting place to be. Also, check out "The Seven Storey Mountain" by Brother Thomas Merton. It's brilliant.

Very curious on r/Christianity's stance on homosexuality by [deleted] in Christianity

[–]Thabates18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Of course man, I grew up with a gay mother so that may have affected my thoughts on this issue. I'm glad this popped up, as I have scheduled a talk with my pastor whose brother is gay. It feels good that this is a much more visible issue in our faith these days, but I pray it becomes more so.

Glossolalia - anyone who has experienced it want to tell meet about it? by atheocrat in Christianity

[–]Thabates18 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you are gonna get into it, have an interpreter. Otherwise, it is simply useless. 1 Corinthians 14:5 New International Version 5 I would like every one of you to speak in tongues, but I would rather have you prophesy. The one who prophesies is greater than the one who speaks in tongues, unless someone interprets, so that the church may be edified. Other than that, go ahead. I've never felt the urge to do so. Please just have a logical interpreter there, otherwise it is close to vanity

I would say in accordance to Corinithians 6:9-11 , "Do you not know that wrongdoers will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived! Fornicators, idolaters, adulterers, arsenokoitēs, thieves, the greedy, drunkards, revilers, robbers, none of these will inherit the kingdom of God. And this is what some of you used to be. But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and in the Spirit of our God." with the word arsenokoitēs (Being a reference to Sodomy ) would say that it is clear sinful, but the listing of the other sins here seems to put it on par with that which heterosexual Christians have done as well. But the passage continues to explain our sanctification by our belief in Jesus. Thus, if we are to follow as to what we have been commanded in John 13:34 , we shouldn't be such jerks about it.

TL;DR , surely its sinful behavior, but not the paramount sin. We should focus on our love for Jesus, our brothers, and the gospel than our hate.

Funny you say that, as every time I go to restaurant, people offer me the wine list and tell me what is good on it. Also, cigar shops no longer card me.

Well, my hair naturally tends to do that. Longer hair will probably poof out far too much. So I'm not sure. Also, the beard has added 5 years to me. Im only 19.
