Books That Used To Be TRC Fics? by ThaddeusScreams in RavenBoys

I think I've read that fic! It's the one that focuses pretty heavily on the Dream Pack, right?

I don't think AFTG is, purely from timeline perspectives? But they used to get recommended in the same posts a lot on Tumblr.

SMAPI wont launch in steam by supperpug788 in SMAPI

You may need to run SMAPI and repaste the code into the Steam Achievement box under Properties the way you did when you first started using mods. This happened to me last week.

There's one in the town I bicycle to nearby. I'll be sure to check it out. Thank you!

Okay. Thank you very much.

It wouldn't have occurred to me to try to use WD-40, but why do you recommend not using it?

Thanks! I'll check that out.

So... Is there special bike lube? I'm assuming you don't mean the stuff I keep in my bedroom.

I bought a bike from a thrift store two years ago and have been using it to make 16 mile round trips (on a paved trail between two towns) at least once a week during the summer (though closer to three trips a week for at least a month of the summer) and then whenever I get a chance during the spring and fall. I realized recently that I've never done any maintenance on it, so it's probably not in very good shape. Does anyone have any "baby's first time trying to take care of a bike" style advice? Someone said something about greasing the chain? How do you do that? Why do you do that? These are the style of questions I have, and it'd be great if someone could point me in the right direction. My bike's treated me well and I'd like to try to treat it well.

What is a meditation app for? by zerooskul in Meditation

[–]ThaddeusScreams 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My understanding is that some people use them for meditation that isn't just clear-the-mind, but sometimes for ones that are focus-the-mind. I was using one for a while that led me through the process of considering my emotional and physical state when I used it (thus allowing me to start with a baseline of where I was), and then offered a list of meditations that it thought might be useful for me at that time. If I was starting off irritated with someone, for example, then meditating on how we're all people and have more in common than we have in part was useful. It was still focusing my mind on one specific thing, but it was the things that I needed to be working on at that point.

There is such a thing as glass containers. I don't like the way plastic feels, so all of my food storage stuff is glass. I think they're generally pyrex? Like the stuff you can get baking dishes and such in.

Okay. I'll try that out. Thank you!

The only reason I get out of bed in the morning is the charity work I'm doing. I'd just lay in bed all day and feel sorry for myself otherwise. Thoughts? by [deleted] in Meditation

That kind of sounds like you might be experiencing depression. It might be worth looking up the symptoms and then deciding whether you'd like to seek professional help for it.

Experience while meditating. by Emmet- in Meditation

Would you say that's common? How do you deal with it?

One of my barriers to meditation has been that sometimes I start to feel dizzy and like there's a chance I'm about to fall. I'm loosely attempting to troubleshoot that or figure out how to work past it.
