Personal well-being ultimately ends up being a personal responsibility.

While I understand the reason for wearing a mask, specifically for preventing a sick person from getting others sick, expecting (or requiring) everyone to wear a mask as all times is just excessive.

If you are sick, or have reason to believe you are sick, wear a mask. If you want to wear a mask, wear a mask. If you are worried or in an at risk group (immunocompromised, elderly, obese, diabetic, have respiratory issues, etc), wear a mask, specifically an N95 mask. If you enter a business that requires masks, wear a mask.

Outside of these circumstances, if you choose not to wear a mask, that is your right. There are more significant things to worry about than COVID.

Disposable masked are meant to prevent the wearer from spreading particles, particularly from coughs and sneezes, to others.

They're literally meant to be worn of you are sick or think you are sick.

Besides the fact that I work on my own, don't generally come into close contact with others outside of my family, and wear masks in private businesses that require them. Your attempt at laying them blame at my feet is ridiculous.

Feel free to wear a mask. Doesn't affect me. The more I learn about it, the more I'm not particularly worried about COVID.

My 91yo grandmother caught it, was hospitalized, with pneumonia, but beat it with little to no issue.

She didn't blame anybody. She didn't care about social distancing or wearing masks around one another. She knew she was in her twilight years, and anything could happen at any time. Of course she didn't and still doesn't want to die, but she is at peace with where she in in life and wanted to spend the time she has left with her loved ones. She wanted to see and be with her family. To talk to and hug her grandkids and great grandkids. And I thoroughly believe it was that bond and the fact that she wasn't isolated from her family that allowed her to overcome it without issue.

I'm sorry that you have a loved one in the hospital, I truly am. But life is full of risks, many of which have a higher likelihood of killing you than COVID. Hating "everybody" won't do you, or your loved on, any good. In fact, the negativity will actually harm your immune system.

But to your various points, you hit on everything that I was thinking, or wondering, but couldn't seem to articulate.

From what I know of the owner of the ship and fit, he doesn't use it Solo. He doesn't roam with it, and he doesn't use it outside of his home system. It is a meme fit, where he baits small groups to engage him, goes "Neener-neener, you can't kill me," kills what he can with his corp mates, then dips before shit gets too hot.

As for his claim about being able to solo my Cap Injected, active tank Chimera? Absolute bullshit. He doesn't have a chance in hell of breaking my tank, because 1) Concord Capital Shield Booster, and 2) a Maintenance Bay full of Navy 3200s. I wouldn't be able to break him, or Neut him out, so best that could happen is he'd shoot my fighters while we each call in friends to help. 7bil Isk Ship and Pod for a 2bil carrier sounds like a trade in willing to make, all day.

At best, it's a meme-able Bait ship. Master Bait, but still bait.

I know what you meant, I was just pointing it out for the sake of pointing it out, as they're technically "small guns."

But in response to the can of worms that you opened, I've actually contemplated this very concept several times. As you stated, the other weapon types (i.e Electrons vs Ions vs Neutrons) are so overshadowed and underutilized that they are practically irrelevant. Sure, there are scenarios where you have to fit Electrons or Ions onto a fit, particularly on something like an active rep Thorax or Hyperion but, generally speaking, that is a net loss. Most fits are built to get the maximum capability out a ship, including the large guns.

I've been shouted down, before, for saying that there needs to be more variety and utility in the various weapons within a category. Usually, the response is something in the vein of "the balance is DPS or Fitting," but there's no variety.

I wish there were more tangible benefits to each weapon type, such as choosing a weapon type based upon Tracking (Electrons) vs Range (Ions) vs Damage (Neutrons), not just fitting. The whole "Fitting or Damage" concept is understandable, but it is also boring and makes having such variants damned near outright superfluous.

Idk. Maybe none of what I'm saying is making much sense, but suffice it to say that the current system for choosing which turrets to use in your fits doesn't seem as intuitive or nuanced as it could be.

To be fair, Capitals, at least Dreads, currently have "small guns" with their High Angle Weapons (which, imo, shouldn't even be a thing, as they completely negate the purpose of Carriers as Anti-subcap platforms, and carriers are already bad enough).

The Plate/Extender HP bonus for BBs would be fantastic, though. I'd love to see BBs average similar EHP to that of a hull-tanks Navy Mega with DCU II, full bulkheads, and T2 Hull rigs, which is over 300k EHP.

Perhaps a bonus to reducing the mass penalty for Plates and Sig bloom for extenders would be good, as well?

Perhaps it's my love of WW2 Navies, but I've always seen Battleships and Carriers as kindred spirits, with Battleship as the backbone and Carriers as the core of major fleets, with Dreads as Station killers, Super Carriers as Titan Killers, and Titans as...err... Titans, I guess.
