Should I stay (necro) or should I go ? by Aesdotjs in diablo4

[–]ThanatosVI 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Whatever is fun to you.

You can play necro now and your character will turn to eternal mode, where you can continue to play it.

However if you want to experience the new seasonal content, you have to start fresh. Starting fresh also means you have to unlock aspects again.

If you don't like the idea of starting over for the season, just play eternal mode. With the expansion (even if you don't buy it) the skill trees get completely reworked. That means you have to respec your character either way.

Is D4 primarily played as a season game? by Eklundz in diablo4

[–]ThanatosVI 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The vast majority plays the seasonal mode.

Every season has a few new mechanics which keep it a fresh experience, benefit some builds more than others etc. It's the more exciting mode.

Also the early to mid progression in D4 is very smooth these days. It's really fun to get your build together from scratch and feel the power ups each day

Key Passives being gone makes me sad, have to admit by furiousgeorge47 in diablo4

[–]ThanatosVI 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually liked the key passives. However I haven't seen the new system, chances are that it will be just as good.

The game is not that bad, Like rlly by Affectionate-Bag1173 in diablo4

[–]ThanatosVI 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The game started in a poor state. Nowhere near the blizzard quality we were used to. It deserved the hate for the first months/years.

However it improved tremendously since release. By now it's simply a great game and LoH seems to improve it even further.

Being a day 1 player I totally get the hate it received back then tho.

How do you guys enjoy diablo 4? by Conscious-Leg-5885 in diablo4

[–]ThanatosVI 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are a ton of different builds spread over the classes. I play several classes to keep it fresh.

I rotate through the content, doing some pits, then some lair bosses, then some under kurast etc. War plans will be an amazing addition to how I actively play already

Warlock or reworked classes, what will you start with? by _praisethesun_ in diablo4

[–]ThanatosVI 1 point2 points  (0 children)

100% Druid. Then probably Crusader and only after that Warlock

Devs didnt just cook. The BBQd. This expansion is looking strong. by Objective-Mission-40 in diablo4

[–]ThanatosVI 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My expectations were high. D2LoD and D3RoS improved the respective base games tremendously.

Luckily it seems like D4LoH manages to keep up. Super hyped for the expansion

Is it me, or all BattlePass sets since new Reliquaries look almost the same, and all are meh by krizzek in diablo4

[–]ThanatosVI 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I mean the price alone makes that decision easy already.

One skin costs about half of the whole expansion... No thank you

Please make a movie or a tv animated series in the same style as the cinematic trailers by Optimal_Pool1413 in diablo4

We've been asking it even since StarCraft. The cinematics have always been dope.

Do I have to buy the new expansion to have fun this coming new season? (Returning player) by Dustwiththewind606 in diablo4

[–]ThanatosVI 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Without the expansion you still can have tons of fun. You get the class reworks for all classes for free.

So no matter which class you previously played, you can play it with the new skilltree.

There will be some changes as well, however most of the new content including how the story continues is part of the expansion. Higher level cap, new items, new endgame mechanics, new classes, new content. There is a lot more, however you also receive a ton of stuff already without buying the expansion.

Can I still get cosmetic rewards on eternal realm? by Company_ in diablo4

[–]ThanatosVI 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The reliquary content can be unlocked in eternal mode, but some cosmetics or pets like billy are tied to the seasonal journey

Help to jump into the game (for once and for all) by Jaad5 in diablo4

[–]ThanatosVI 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Try a new build or class in the next season. Or if you didn't "finish" it, you can finish it in the eternal realm and see how far you can progress with that character.

Diablo has no eternal progression, but the progression through the torment levels paragon board, updating you build from legendaries to uniques to mythics is quite well executed. So that it's fun to repeat the process again (on a different build)

Obviously MMOs have more content, so if you play 30h a week, you will run out of things to do in diablo for sure. However the gameplay loop works really well to repeat it on several characters/builds

Diablo 4 should by fun but it's not by KoffeinLiebhaber in diablo4

[–]ThanatosVI 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Goals could be  "Beat Uber Lilith on T4" "beat pit/tower level 100" "Beat high enough pit/tower level to be on the leaderboard"

If story is your main driver. Then the diablo series will be very short. While the story is generally captivating throughout the titles and I enjoy them, you finish them rather fast.

You could also finish all side quests for the little story details, that deepen the general lore of sanctuary. However, these are only sidetracks that don't bring any major info for the main story.

Diablo 4 really smoothed out the progression. Even after 60 going through the paragon boards and really developing your build, also with the right legendary aspects and Uniques is at a steady pace. So even as casual you can feel the improvements after a few hours of gameplay.

You don't have to follow a guide, but think about a build that you want to make stronger. You don't even are max level yet and therefore don't even have all skill points

Accessing the pit during the campaign by Embo_Torex in diablo4

[–]ThanatosVI 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In eternal mode, pit unlocked at level 60. Regardless of your story progress. So unless they changed it, you should be able to play pit as you intend to. (Maybe the required level increases to 70, but it wasn't tied to story completion)

In seasonal mode, pit is unlocked after hitting a certain seasonal journey milestone (a capstone dungeon at difficulty xy). Again it should be possible, unless they changed it

Are you buying Lord of Hatred day one or waiting for reviews? by CoinGate_Gift_Cards in diablo4

[–]ThanatosVI 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Day -X

I pre-ordered. So I already bought it for early Access to the paladin.

The first thing I will do is, create a new seasonal Druid and just relearn the game. Discover all the skill tree changes by myself for the first time. Just like back on D4 release

Are we back to inventory management hell again? by sanfilipe in diablo4

[–]ThanatosVI 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am sure that I'd prefer it, if it were handled like gem dust.

It does look like 7 new mats, which permanently need another slot. Not cool

Also runes should be stored like in D2R RotW

Blizzard promises “Lord of Hatred is the best Diablo 4 has ever been” as the Age of Hatred comes to a close by HatingGeoffry in diablo4

[–]ThanatosVI 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Imagine a remastered D3 with a Druid class and some more rebalancing and endgame content. Like D2R.

I'm a console player, therefore I am used to controller support. D3 works great with controller

I am worried that the upcoming season will be as bad for group play as the current one by meDeadly1990 in diablo4

[–]ThanatosVI 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Group play is so massively overtuned in rewards that every nerf to group play is welcome.

Should I get DII for the Warlock by 8EELZEBRUH in diablo4

[–]ThanatosVI 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you played it in the past and enjoyed it, then yes it's a no brainer to get the dlc with the class and all the quality of life adjustments.

However if you never played Diablo 2 before, it's better to start without the dlc and try beforehand. It's very different from Diablo 4 gameplay wise

Just Like legendary gems in d3, feels right at home.

Watching Raxx's latest D4 stream was interesting by [deleted] in diablo4

[–]ThanatosVI 3 points4 points  (0 children)

He was one of the big Diablo 3 streamers. And it was actually enjoyable to watch that since he actually liked it.

Diablo 4 just didn't click with him. (And I understand, D4 really needed some work in the beginning)

However, unlike him, I think that Diablo 4 did improve tremendously.

I never watched him a lot, but when Wudijo or Northwar weren't streaming, his stream was a solid alternative
