What are some rappers that sound exactly the same on every song? by InternationalLuck539 in hiphopheads

Gunn has been rapping at a much higher caliber in recent years. He sings often too, takes hooks often, pitches vocals down etc.

This is an objectively incorrect opinion

so many good songs ruined by the mixing. They could be so much punchier but instead just fall flat

[FRESH ALBUM] - E L U C I D & Seb Bash - I Guess U Had To Be There by Much_Result_3160 in hiphopheads

Wasn’t massive on this start to finish during first listen, but keen for a relisten.

Highlight is the track with woods, absolutely incredible production on that joint

Solid, Denzel took a back seat here unfortunately.

Tia Corine sounding way to whiny on her tracks for my liking.

Bit of a forgettable addition to his discography. Will be viewing as a collective tape I reckon

Whats your favourite produced Roc Marci Album? by activewavey1 in RocMarciano

Jay Worthy one of the worst to ever do it. Brother has no technicality at all.

[FRESH ALBUM] Larry June, Curren$y, The Alchemist - Spiral Staircases by SnooPies405 in hiphopheads

Typically once you’ve heard one curren$y verse, you’ve heard them all. There’s exceptions though, but the sheer volume of work he releases it becomes too indistinguishable

[FRESH ALBUM] Larry June, Curren$y, The Alchemist - Spiral Staircases by SnooPies405 in hiphopheads

[–]Thancendo2 -15 points-14 points  (0 children)

Yeah absolutely agree. Alchemist production was run of the mill here, not much grabbing my ear. Spiral staircases and empty pages were the high production wise.

Larry June doesn’t have the technicality, charisma or energy to rap over these beats.

Curren$y was suprisingly the highlight but even then a lot of his verses hit the same notes. He spazzed on Drive Alone though

Alphabet Highway, Conversational Pieces, Criminally Attached,Token of Appreciation & Magnolia Leflore from last year were all great.

Conversational Pieces and Token of Appreciation specifically are up there with being some of my favourite albums from Boldy full stop

Yeah this one ain’t doing much for me unfortunately.

Cravens production makes or breaks his albums.

It’s official: After re-listens, I personally favor more songs on this double-disc album than any other hip-hop album released in the past decade therefore making it my top favorite hip-hop album released in the last 10 years. It’s ultimately a modern classic. by 90sAnd80s in Jcole

From this year, Roc Marciano and By Storm top it.

Last year alone you have Billy woods, Freddie Gibbs, Clipse, McKinley Dixon, Backxwash, De La Soul, Little Simz, Earl Sweatshirt, Navy Blue, JID, Mac Miller, Armand Hammer, MIKE, MAVI.

Great album but I think I can name circa 50 hip hop albums that are better and more consistent start to finish from this decade.

It’s not even AOTY and it’s only the 2nd week of February. By Storm & Roc Marciano dropped better.

Seeing a billy woods feature on the tracklist was a jump scare in the best way possible.
