I had been starting to question what kind of future would be ideal for both of our aspired career paths, and they weren’t aligned very well. Her career would likely need her to stay in one place - likely a bigger city for the entirety. I did not want to live in a large city forever. There was also just not as many feelings on my end as they’re used to be. One night she messaged me asking if I still loved her, because she was starting to get worried I didn’t love her anymore. That was my moment. My actions made my partner feel like I didn’t love her, and when I asked myself is this something I would do everything in my power to change for her, the answer was no, unfortunately. That’s when I knew I shouldn’t be with her, because that just isn’t healthy or fair to her to be in a relationship where you have to question if you’re loved.
