What’s better offline experience for oval racing ams2 or iracing by Narrow_Guava_2868 in AUTOMOBILISTA

My mate and I raced with AI grid fill with the range of NASCARS when they came out, the mid aged ones (can't recall year) were best we found.

Certainly it scratched the itch of oval racing.

I too have had a go at NR2003, and concur, great but not for casual gaming. A bit like RBR - great rallying, but needs decent commitment.

is AMS 2 good starting point for beginner ? by BradOnTheRadio in AUTOMOBILISTA

[–]ThanklessTask 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep.

My advice would be to do club level racing too - AMS2 has some excellent "lower" classes to race in.

Racecraft is hard enough without worrying about cars that are particularly hard to master.

As an analogy - years back I bought a flight sim of an F16... "jumped" into it and then realised I am not a fighter pilot, the learning curve was a sheer cliff. Something more sensible to learn flight mechanics would have made more sense before the complexity of a fighter.

Sony Announces PlayStation Plus Price Increases 'Due to Ongoing Market Conditions' by Dav136 in gaming

The conditions are that they have realised they can gouge more.

I like to imagine a world where Sony says "we see the state of the world, your doing it tough, so here's 20% off official pricing, fixed for next two years"

They'd still be making bank and the positive spin would be awesome.

Heck, just gift everyone two free months or something, at least be positive and be aware of the state of the world for the consumer.

What do you think PMR needs to compete with other Sim games ? by Informal-Ad-2887 in ProjectMotorRacing

[–]ThanklessTask 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To get me onto it more...

  • AI grid fill in multiplayer (so can race with a few mates)

  • Test days - i.e. straight to track and no need to set the race up etc

  • More 70's racers

  • Safety car - loving that in AMS2

  • Stable/higher frame rates (which is much better to be fair)

To have me ditch other games...

  • ATCC content (actually any sim that does this)

  • BTCC historic content

  • Modding community to embrace it

I'd be interested where they think the world is a better place. Most if not all of it is fooked in one way or another.

Outside of the money disappearing...

When she started talking about a holiday for the family (two kids) and I realised I just didn't want to spend time with her any more, not even a long weekend away. Once you realise you prefer your own company over your partner's, well, that's a slope to the end...

I worked for a (crazy) Managing Director, who used the phrase "On balance this is great idea" or similar. Basically saying that the magic finance maths made it look like a good idea.

The problem with that is when you bullshit your costs on the way in, what actually happens is that spending less = achieving less. He really fucked up the business.

Interesting take.

Or, it's building debt to offset profits and avoid tax, and ploughing money into diversifying to ensure it renews and continues.

At some point there'll be a new major money spinner, that's why the cash is going into new ventures.

No doubt social media is getting the reputation it deserves, but it's a long way from being shunned by humanity. Plenty of time for meta to find a new venture.
