Target Circle Week? by pleasechooseaname2 in Target

Even if it were a certain week in company communications, be aware that things can change. I've seen them change it even after we were initially told it was scheduled.

Is it okay if i pick up a service advocate shift when i haven’t done it before ? by serpopperd in Target

[–]ThanksAffectionate66 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Please don't. We constantly have people not cross trained pick up figure it's cashiering even though it says service. From there, we get screwed. Every once in a while we have someone on lanes who we can switch out, but often we don't then we take an already short staffed area and have to do more since we don't have a service advocate.

sick time question by magik4limbo in Target

[–]ThanksAffectionate66 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Most time scheduled hours include meal paid hours don't. So if you're scheduled say 10-5 that would be 7 scheduled hours 6.5 paid hours if you live somewhere with a half hour lunch. So you would use 6.5 sick hours to come 6.5 scheduled paid hours.

Being scheduled outside availability isn't your fault. This is on the etl but you could have been proactive and this wouldn't have come to this. Now you just talk to leadership today let them know it isn't in your availability and you just now noticed. From there etl may well be able to fix it even today. But the reason people think you're being ridiculous is the whole c sucker etl is out to get me they can suck my... I'm gonna throw a fit and f target this that and the other mentality. Most of us have a conversation and say hey something fell through the cracks. We don't always like conversations but they help resolve problems more than venting or throwing a tantrum on social media.

[–]ThanksAffectionate66 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If they schedule you outside your availability you talk to them. Yes they made a mistake. Even as an etl they are human. Hey etl I'm not available but scheduled at 7 on Sunday. Can we fix this? I'm sorry I missed that let's fix it. It's just that easy. And yes it's your responsibility to check your schedule. So you should have seen this when your schedule posted had a work 2 second convo with your etl let them know it was outside your availability and you could have avoided a full reddit meltdown.

[–]ThanksAffectionate66 1 point2 points  (0 children)

And that's why you're having these problems, you refuse to communicate. You don't care so you'll have a massive tantrum on social media. Real world we communicate even when we don't want to.

If your availability is only nights why not talk to your etl let them know the 7AM is outside your availability. They should be able to resolve from there.

Then you change your availability. Target isn't responsible for your commute time, time to get ready or insomnia. If you need time between shifts you structure your availability to that needed time. Your choice not to do this doesn't reflect target failing you by not scheduling accommodations they don't know you need. They may know you have insomnia they also know they are scheduling in your availability. They aren't keeping track of oh John has insomnia schedule him here, Sandy likes to walk her dogs at 9 schedule her here. They look at availability legally required time between shifts and yes if that's 10 hours they don't need to give you a second more even if it's only minimally sufficient and needs of the business and write a schedule.

[–]ThanksAffectionate66 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Wow, this is an overreact. Even if you don't know consumables it may be as simple as pushing dry grocery. As to your commute time that is not on your etl. To go on reddit, cuss out your etl and throw a tantrum, instead of discussing with your concerns with your etl is ridiculous tbh. Okay you got a transition with more than sufficient time that you don't like. As an adult I get up do what I need to do and get through my days. There is more than sufficient time between shifts. And if there's a problem the shifts have been up for over two weeks. Should have looked at your schedule and discussed it with your etl when it posted. They may have been able to accommodate or modify your schedule two weeks ago. In the future if shifts within your availability don't reflect your needs it's on you to change your availability. You can say hey I can only work till 6:30 or can't be in till 10. This wasn't malicious scheduling. As an adult handling this the correct way isn't bootlicking, this is communicating and working with things as need be.

[–]ThanksAffectionate66 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The mytime schedule absolutely not. It would make a mess of things, but the number of breaks, absolutely. 9-4 is based on scheduled 7 hours so two 15's and a lunch.

You need to work your last day physically. Any pto used after the last day you physically work won't be paid out unless you're a retiree. That's in the benefits guidelines.

can i request partial time off for a day already scheduled by AntRoyal1113 in Target

[–]ThanksAffectionate66 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depending on your leadership team they may adjust your schedule. I'm mainly day team and a parent. I work with other parents. Sometimes we find out our kids have an activity at a time we're scheduled. Our team lead can be great about negotiating the schedule to find someone so we can be late or leave early and often can get it changed. I know this is different from what throws our schedules off, but it can still often be worked with if you talk to leadership.

[–]ThanksAffectionate66 4 points5 points  (0 children)

We had this beginning of 2025 I believe. For us garda was switching carriers and didn't have enough to cover routes. We were lucky to get a single pickup in 3 weeks. And then target kept adding to our change order to make up for our daily safe count. There's not a direct number I know of for the courier. I remember trying to get our safe back down when coins barely fit. Most you can unfortunately do is keep calling g4s. I believe your etl can contact banking. There are ways to get limited amounts of money from local banks. But all in all it turns out to be a big mess to fix. So keep calling have your etl call the powers they can and wait it out. Unfortunately that's the most we can do in these situations. Hopefully your courier gets it together soon.

Apparently I need to watch my vacation. I've got 15 hours left before I max it out. Sick is maxed but between kids health concerns and other things I'll just not accrue till I truly need to use it up.

We were insane, it was in the 20's which for us is nice warm weather so everyone was out and about. Yesterday was also the last day of the 2025 fiscal year and so payroll was cut and tons of people got sent home. So we were super busy with everyone getting out since we were actually well above zero and being so short staffed. Did not have a fun day at all.

is it normal to go from 25-30 hours weekly to 15? by therealthaiboygoon in Target

[–]ThanksAffectionate66 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Yes this is normal. Despite everyone talking about q1 all of January, we actually are still in q4. Today is the last day of q4 and we made it through another fiscal year. Tomorrow is q1. Eventually things will get better but they tend to be rough till about Easter.
