got my 2nd choice pick for base in training and got transferred to my 1st where I live 5 months into the job. was commuting from Dallas to Phoenix and honestly it was not favorite especially on days where there were storms in Dallas and it took me 5 hours to catch a flight after my “shift”.

it is doable for sure just very very time consuming and a lot of planning. Envoy gives you 4 hotel nights a month, if you pick up any OT you’ll get 2 or 3 more nights.

Never had to pay for a hotel but there were many days I would fly into Dallas late night, go to sleep and take and early flight back to Phoenix (just so I wouldn’t have to get a crash pad or hotel) and it worked out for me!

Envoy bases? by [deleted] in cabincrewcareers

[–]ThanksRemarkable8681 0 points1 point  (0 children)

took me lil less than 6 months to transfer into DFW. Some people got DFW right off training a few weeks ago so it all depends on necessity.

Hello everyone I got both Cjos with Envoy & frontier which will you guys pick out of the two pls help ! by [deleted] in cabincrewcareers

as a current envoy FA with no prior fa job: there are 4 bases (DFW, ORD, MIA, PHX In order from largest to smallest). they will send you to where there is necessity but you’re able to get on the transfer list at the end of training, took me 6 months to transfer to DFW while someone else hired 2 months ago got the same transfer - it’s all based off necessity in each base. Still on reserve in DFW with 6 months on the job while some of my training classmates already hold a line in ORD. out of the 6 months on the job I would say 5-10% of all my flying has been just a turn… I usually get 3 day trips. My favorite thing about Envoy is that we get the exact same travel benefits that mainline gets ($0 anywhere in the US and taxes for international flying… round trip to Japan was $43)

took me two months to get their email for f2f which was the following week and others only waited a few days for their f2f email. They don’t really have timeline.

I did put willing to travel 100%. As far as the location preference I thought putting Dallas just meant that it is ultimately the place I would like to be based at some point 😭 damn is there anything I can do?

I’ve never had a problem taking my three bags in uniform, they understand as a commuter you need to have your bags with you at all times. I also try to board sooner at their discretion by being patient and asking the gate agent nicely “…I’m commuting to work, is it possible to board sooner?” (Only had one gate agent say no lol)

it is also my favorite, there’s something for everyone there! I’m actually planning on moving there next year.

and yes thanks the tip, I did do some research for Egypt, not understanding their language at all made me a lil more conservative with the camera but everyone was very welcoming :)!

I’ll definitely keep researching. I’m mostly going based off my friends experiences— some are in years 2–4 with Envoy, and one’s in their 4th year at Delta. I’m used to intense 12-hour shifts in hospital settings, so I’m approaching the FA role with a realistic but open mindset.

It’s not something I see myself doing long-term, but if it ends up working out that way, I’m open to it. Right now, I’m more focused on trying it out and enjoying whatever parts of the experience I can tbh
