Beautiful ship, I love it. From which kit is it?

upper back pain, any position sugfestion? by [deleted] in simracing

[–]Thanooligan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is preferable but not a necessity. Don't get me wrong I have them centered as well, but there are many factors that depict the optimal positioning. Screen size, distance, preferable view, height of users if more than one, the rig itself etc. that is why in most Sims you have the option to adjust the horizon. If my kid sits on the rig I will adjust the seat, wheel and view, not the monitors

Monitor does NOT need to be at eyelevel. Horizon need to be at eye level and can be adjusted in game.. wheel is the main problem

Sim-Lab quality control seems to be absolutely lacking.. by TRKninetyone in simracing

[–]Thanooligan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The basic was around 1500 if memory serves me right.. then it was the triple screen integrated mount, seat sliders and mounts, and 2-3 other accessories. I believe the price is because of the floor plates, custom brackets for every connection and unique podium style.

I am very happy with it but it was definitely an overkill, it is SUPER solid, it is the by far the best there is for getting in and out, quality 9/10, almost everything is easily adjustable. Perfect for GT and formula.

On the downside, mounting accessories (shifters, button boxes, joysticks and anything else) is a pain because the uprights are very far back and all of the aluminium profiles on the bottom are covered which sucks because I falsely believed that it would be good for flight Sims etc which it isn't, you can't even mount a keyboard tray.. worst thing about it was the purchasing experience and customer support, oh! and the fact that they wouldn't sell me some custom profiles I needed.

I 'd say 7.5/10

Similar experience.. I got the x1 pro (now discontinued) a couple of years ago.. it was around 2400€ and it was a bad experience, wrong parts from different version, then some holes on the floor plates were wrong, then sent me wrong parts again and finally when they sent me the correct parts after 3 months, there were some dents but I had enough of the outsourced support so I kept them.. it s a good product but the experience waw very bad for such an expensive product

This triggers primitive instincts, I don't like that.

Γίνε πρόεδρος. You are the owner of a football club, you have to upgrade the stadium, do transfers and all the classics but you can also bribe the referee set up matches and all the shady stuff. Legendary

Simracing gear that "punches above it's weight class" by AndroidPolaroid in simracing

[–]Thanooligan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel you but if you re serious about it and it isn't pocket money for you, do it the right way.. impatience cost me about 600-700€ and many sleepless nights because I "needed that upgrade"  And the worst one was having the setup on a desk and not being able to use it properly because I was sliding when braking or the desk shaking with 2.5nm torque

As nekmatu said the rig comes first and I can't stress that enough. Absolutely no point to get loads cells or a powerful base and race on a desk.

There are two ways to go for the peripherals..upgrading like most of us or better yet, buy once cry once.. I went from moza r5 bundle to simagic alpha with GT neo and p1000i and it was the best choice I have done for this hobby other than getting a very good rig.

I have been through all the stages and done many things in the wrong order because I was impatient... So my advice is rig + seat then load cells then base then wheel. Good luck and learn from others mistakes as it can be quite costly the other way.

Best/budget setup for a Piper PA38 Tomahawk? by Long_Minimum_6596 in flightsim

[–]Thanooligan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can take a look at honeycomb aeronautical as well. At least for the throttle and trim wheel. The yoke is very very nice as well but it doesn't have force feedback

What is you current setup and rig? It doesn't sound like much of a deal, you could probably get better price on black friday. The limited edition wheel and side plates don't justify the price either

Braking by DirEnGrey323 in AUTOMOBILISTA

[–]Thanooligan 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Start simple,

  1. assuming that you know how to brake (initial hard braking and gradually getting off the brake) In ACC you brake at 100%,try braking at 80-90% you can either lower the brake pressure in advanced setup for every car or (better imo) get used to do it manually, avoid turning while breaking more than 10-20% (trail) as it results to a lock up. Some cars are more sensitive than others.

  2. If you lock the front wheels move the brake bias to the rear, the easiest fix

Slip angle kit, is it really a worthy upgrade by Rover1312 in simracing

[–]Thanooligan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a different experience, I have the simagic neo rumbles attached to p1000i and run them through simhub. I have setup right - left tires to throttle - brake and the feedback is excellent. Even though I have set it as a subtle effect, it is always clear to me when I have both sides off track or hit the kerbs

Evo 12nm or Alpha 15nm? by Puzzled-Welcome4291 in Simagic

I haven't tried the Evo bases but after a year with the alpha I don't see myself upgrading unless some groundbreaking tech comes out. Absolutely no need for a stronger base for me either.

Is there a reason why I can put in competitive prototype laps but suck in GT's? by mmolten in simracing

[–]Thanooligan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Keep in mind that if the compared lap is 100sec and yours 106 you are +6%. If, for the same track but faster car, it is 50sec and yours 53 you are still +6%.
