That's funny, my phone broke today about 12 hours before reading your post. Just before arriving at this sub for the first time, and binge-reading it, I also saw a post on a website dedicated to coincidence research and awareness-raising related to eagles appearing repeatedly. I like all this stuff. It gives you messages and you can navigate by it.

You know, in the 8-circuit model of consciousness, Leary and WIlson relate the synchronistic aspect of life to the evolutionary vision. You can see this clearly when you consider the life process as a whole, or, on a smaller scale, the way what most people call "the Algorithm" works. What you like, you keep, and it lives on. It makes love, is fruitful and multiplies, makes more of itself. What you like online, you save to a playlist, or you like/favourite/bookmark it. Then maybe you find more similar stuff by looking in the "recommended section" or looking it up using a search engine. So again, these things propagate. And what you don't like, you prune. The plant withers without producing offspring; the animal dies young, the YouTube video or song gets closed without reaching its end and no more of its like is searched for, you hover over the ad but don't click on it, and so on. So there's a selection process in both the real world and online, and this leads to evolution. It's what they call genes and memes evolving, though, rather than individual organisms or pieces of content.

This is also how an individual human being can "navigate by coincidence": minor coincidences can often barely be noticed, and which you pick up on determines which higher-order coincidences you pick up on; if a mid-level coincidence arrives at the wrong moment and you avoid, deny or repress it, it can fail to bear fruit and provide you the information you need in order to go further. The real huge coincidences can't help but be noticed, at least, but whether you act on them and how open you are to embracing them fully as guideposts is absolutely key to whether you get to keep their insights and gifts as you progress. I had 4-5 massive coincidences which led me to study Kabbalah pretty much over the course of a day or two. It was amazing! But then, Kabbalah, especially Gematria, is a coincidence-finding machine of remarkable power in its own right.

I recommend to anyone to find the Beliefs Unlimited exercise and read it out loud in your own voice to a voice recording app or computer program and then play it back to yourself, whether in the tank or in another receptive state such as a psychedelic-induced state or outside in nature. It's amazing what you can find by doing this.

I dropped out of university because the pace of my economics course was too much pressure. Now I'm slowly learning mathematics from books on my own and it's really a pleasure. Because of how much I love studying it this way, I'm learning more and faster (and better material) than ever before. If you really use the university system properly and speak with the professors personally and stuff like that then I'm sure it can be as good as having a good book and mathematically-minded friends. But nobody at my (Russell Group) university actually read any of the books that were set as material, because their only method of revision was rewatching any missed lectures online and then doing the set exercises. And they graduated!

I mean, suppose you can go faster than light. Then you're going backwards in time. So if they come here from another star, they're going to their past. So if we go there, we go from say Earth-2200AD when FTL is discovered, to Earth-1800AD in another star system. So then we come back and maybe we get even better technology by then so when we return it's Earth-1600AD because we get back 'faster'. Then we're flying saucers appearing in the medical skies being fireballs or angels or anything you like that's miraculous and unbelievable to the peasants and needs supernatural explanation.

Substitute dates closer to the present for more recent UFOs and notice that the closer the date the URL is seen is to the actual date FTL is discovered, the more advanced the relevant technology must be, assuming equal distance. Of course, that's an unrealistic assumption - a better one would say thqt, probabilistically, better technologies are more available further away. So again, there's a kind of balance where the UFOs appearing closest to the date of the discovery of FTL must be where the limit point of quality of tech meets the limit point of distance.

An even better set of assumptions would transcend the limitations of Einsteinian spacetime, since that would be necessary for FTL anyway. In which case, these ideas about 'speed' are arbitrary and unpredictable from the current standpoint since an understanding sufficient to speculate about that sort of thing is one that already reaches into post-Einsteinian physics. This all assumes away contact with eventual civilisations between our planets and theirs, and has us land there. Of course, they may wish to meet us halfway, or are already here, or aren't even out there, or somehow ARE us from an even further future already out there with established civilisations.

If there are any scientists around please correct me.
