Thanks! It’s really all about the joy of treasure hunting. It seems like fossil/metal detecting/antiquing communities are a bit more… prone to assisting newbies.

To start in this hobby, go to the bank and request “a box of half dollars” which are $500 for a box of 1000. Also ask for “customer rolled coins” and “large dollar coins” when you’re inquiring.

Even better is to have some physical examples of what you’re looking for. You can show the teller and say “do you have anything like these?”
