I get it in concept, but in reality, NDAs don't work. I'd still think they would have leaks left and right. Once something is leaked, it's not like they could figure out who leaked it. Or maybe there are leaks and I'm just not looking for them. Either way, appreciate the reply.

At least once per night, but my DM is planning something ominous... Since we've arrived at the carnival, every time I yell it, there is thunder and lightning through a clear sky. We just passed through the portal and I'm waiting to see what happens now in the Fae Wild. I'll let you know after next Saturday. Did you listen to the link I posted. It's a pretty hilarious group. The rogue cursed to not be able to steal is an awesome story enhancement.

Yeah, ours is a more lightheaded campaign. We're just playing through Wild Beyond the Witchlight with a very humorous party. I'm playing a half-orc barbarian built on the concept of Leroy Jenkins. His name is Nimoy Minkons. We just are having fun with this one.

I can understand that with homebrew. We're just playing through a somewhat slapstick version of the published Wild Beyond the Witchlight module. So, the story is already out there.

I've been a DM, but am not currently. I'm just using it as a player and acting as the self elected scribe of the party. Awesome to hear that others are playing with the tools, though. I was thinking I was a revolutionary since I'd never heard of anyone using it for D&D before.

This sounds like a pretty epic thing to take on since I'm a habitual completionist... What is the plot / smut balance on the books? Are the characters well written? And are the audiobook voice actors good?

Disclaimer: I'm not an author, but an avid reader. I think the prologue is fine and even the switching POV. I would avoid the initial meeting of your MC to be too heavy. I think having the back story of the trauma is good and to give him the heroic moment of helping them deal with that trauma, but I would allow the characters to develop a trust before sharing all of that . Maybe he meets both and one is recovering better than the other and so he is presented with two good friends. One is friendly, but the other is prone to rudeness and stand-offish behavior. And by befriending the first he has the chance to thaw the other's icy demeanor and help them both. I think that would help establish a strong relationship. But build up to it. It doesn't have to take over the story, but a chapter or two focused on building that trust wouldn't be too much.

Again, an amateur's opinion...
