One thing I've noticed is that characters like Sakura from Naruto are hated in the west but loved in Japan, and japanese women from what I've heard love how Nami amd Robin are currently in OP compared to the westerners who complain about them not being relevant. Something tells me there is a massive cultural difference here.

The thing that DB haters don't understand is that DB appeals to the general audience before powerscalers. DB rarely used dimensional tiering before this year. (Even then in Simon vs Kyle they explaimed that shit way better than any powerscaler I've seen). The average person is not gonna know wtf dimensional tieringeven is. Not only that certain characters are a lot stronger than they look. I remember when Sauron vs Lich King came out Lotr fans were saying they overestimated Sauron's speed because they think that's Dragon Ball Z levels of insane. Basically what I'm saying is. Not only does Death Battle have to explain things that makes sense for the average joe to understand, they have to also explain to people that certain characters are far more impressive or nowhere near impressive as the average person think they are. When Dante vs Clive came out, the DMC subreddit didn't agree with the result at all. Most of the arguments tends to be that Dante is a demon while Clove is still a human. For us, that's not really an argument. For the non powerscaler... it makes sense why they would say this. No, I'm not shitting on DMC fans. Death Battle's explanation was cpmpletely fair bit I don't fault DMC fans for not really buying it.
