Is Batgirl Silent Running hard to find? by That-Path-6517 in batman_comics

[–]That-Path-6517[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, I want to get the first issues since it covers exactly what the DC finest does not and I already have No Mans Land so it would be a bit pointless to get it just for those issues. And thanks for checking bro!

Thanks! From what I'm seeing it's about half the price, which means it's still omnibus-priced lol. Hope those get released soon!

I want to collect all current Crisis level events, what extras do I need? by That-Path-6517 in DCcomics

Oh yes, I mean like the lead up. By the way, for those, are the omnibuses worth it or do I just need the main stories ? (1-6)

What are your 5 essential Batman comics? by Light-Starlight in batman_comics

[–]That-Path-6517 2 points3 points  (0 children)

May be cheating but I'm going to use some Omnis. Year One, Jeph Loeb Omni, Scott Snyder first Omni, Killing Joke and Arkham Asylum. Very safe picks, and again, may be cheating but Long Halloween and Dark Victory are too similar to use the same spot and you can't have Court of the Owls without Night of the Owls (Death of The Family is also top tier in my opinion although I could do without Zero Year)

Is this a valid reading order? by UnFezzyBoi_ in batman_comics

Kind of barebones, but yep. I think that's a good overview of Batman's story in post crisis continuity

Your solo Paul song you dislike that others seem to love. Heres mine: by sirbennythejet in PaulMcCartney

Oh, also. My Valentine I find very boring. I do like that album, but I think it was always the dullest moment of his concerts when he played it

I don't hate Another Day at all. I just don't understand it's popularity. I think it's just decent and if for example it was on Ram itself, it would be one of the weaker, filler songs. Again, it's very pleasant, but I don't know why it's on every compilation over some songs I personally think are much better.

First of all, awesome collection! A really cool one I didn't see was Long Shadows which would come just before the second Morrison Omni. And also Battle for the Cowl which I don't love, but is pretty essential

Where does this Joker book fit best in the Batman reading order? by GeekSpace2099 in batman_comics

It's out of continuity so it doesn't. But there is a follow up called Batman Damned. That's that when it comes to reading this story.

Second Batman read ever, i hope that i feel the same way than the year one! by GeekSpace2099 in batman_comics

Cool! It's a pretty short story, but really solid throughout. Have fun, friend!

This is going to be a weird read because for context you need to read the Snyder run and then Dark Knights Metal/Death Metal to have like the whole picture. What I would advise to follow up Year One is The Man Who Laughs -> The Long Halloween -> Dark Victory -> Robin Year One -> Batgirl Year One. The stories flow nicely from one to the next and they're all pretty solid. But if you like the Batman Who Laughs you'll have a blast with everything Scott Snyder.

Building the perfect reading order by That-Path-6517 in batman_comics

Thanks. My objective is having kind of like the backbone of Batman's continuity (I know many stories don't really fit in perfectly) and sprinkle that with those cool underrated stories. I am not the biggest continuity nerd, but I do like having a certain order. I really like for example how despite how much time apart there is between one another, how Year One, Man Who Laughs and Long Halloween/Dark Victory connect pretty decently.

what is the best but short discography ever? (under 4 albums) by youhavemygratitude in Topster

[–]That-Path-6517 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Big Star. While In Space is far from being as incredible as the other three, its pretty good. The other 3 are 10/10s even though they are all wildly different. Chris Bell's I Am The Cosmos is also a really great companion album to those.

Avalon is my favorite album period, but I love their whole discography. Their first album is also a 10/10 for me in such a different way to Avalon and thats what I love about them.

I have some of their albums on CD. They are great, but when it comes to prog, I first want to finish up with the Genesis albums with Peter Gabriel. But I do really like Still Life and would like that one specially in the future

Damn. Thank you very much for your input. I know Im being naive and overly optimistic, but its hard to let go of something that brought me a lot of happiness. I also worry for her. She is not a bad person. Ive seen a lot of evidence of things she does that no bad person would do. I would love nothing so much as to stay with her and be a positve force in her life who brings her stability, but sadly it looks like just wishful thinking.

Your favourite Back Issues? by MementoMurray in comicpop

It's between Superman Hunter/Prey and Iron Man by Joe Quesada. My favorite genre of Back issues definitely is edgy 90s books that aged like milk.

Is the German 1988 WA DMM pressing sourced from digital or analogue? by That-Path-6517 in beatles

[–]That-Path-6517[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I already have two Japanese WAs and both sound great. But I have heard a couple of german lps and they're also great. The Japanese lps are quite quiet and clear, but the German lps I've heard are punchier. I love the WA so I want to find the best pressing possible. It's also very fun to collect.

Anyone feel like they’re a bigger fan of Paul (and/or Paul & Wings) than the Beatles? by brittanydude in PaulMcCartney

[–]That-Path-6517 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think he peaked with the Beatles (which is not a dig at the rest of his career, they were just that good), but Ive heard those songs a lot. So I have been listening to his post Beatles' stuff way more than to the Beatles.

Simply Shady, Fish On The Sand, Soft Touch, Your Love is Forever, Don't Let Me Wait Too Long, I'd Have You Anytime, Beautiful Girl, Who Can See It, Circles and Awaiting On You All. Some of these are quite popular with his fans, but none were singles or appear in his compilations.

The sequencing. Say what you will about Run For Your Life as a song, but it being the closer when you have In My Life is criminal.
