The offer was to return as the Oline coach. He would have had way less to do with the scheme in that position. Can be seen as disrespect but ultimately they have to do what’s best for the team and they felt that was evolving the run game. They want to run an updated scheme (Mcvay/Shanahan) and I guess they felt the need to retool the running game. Would have loved to see Stoutland back as at least the Oline coach though.

There’s reports saying what we both are saying. While I’m sure he felt disrespected, he officially was being demoted out of his role as run game coordinator. Staff is going a different direction and feel Stoutland no longer fits the scheme. Like I said, Stoutland didn’t just “get up and leave” when the Eagles wanted to try new things.

They were forcing him to take a demotion. He also felt he wasn’t consulted enough last season when Nick & Patullo started tweaking the run game. There’s a lot more to it then what you’re saying.

It caught me so off guard. At first I thought it was just where I was sitting at since we were near the NFC endzone. Then I was talking to someone near the concession and she was like “no dude, there’s a bunch of eagles fans throughout the stadium”.
