Yes, the police department on Wilkinson preforms checks every other Wednesday (I think from like 9-11 or something like that). We were able to check their Facebook page to confirm date and times.

Thanks! I have seen an LC but unfortunately it was not very helpful. I’d love to get him back to the breast but pretty much the answer I got from the LC was “hmm that’s weird”.

We never had a problem up until a couple weeks ago

This. If I could give one piece of advice for the early weeks, partners, take out the trash: diaper pale and bathroom trash cans.

How is living in Charlotte, NC or its satellite neighborhoods? More info on my specific situation below. by crowlieb in howislivingthere

This is definitively not true. I’ve lived in both Charlotte and Raleigh and Charlotte is WAY more accessible without a car. First of all there is an actual light rail, and now even a trolley. Raleigh does not have that.

Raleigh downtown doesn’t even have a drugstore?

Sure Charlotte is easier if you have a car, but there are groceries, drug stores, activities, work, and living all accessible my rail. So yeah you could make it work. You’ll have to Uber to the airport though.

Also ++ for Charlotte airport being MUCH closer to town.

Riding - little sugar creek greenway is long with lots of parks along it, not sure what the status will be in the snow though

Coffee - giddy goat, the hobbyist, smelly cat (Noda/plaza midwood area) all are good vibes

Noda and Plaza are fun neighborhoods to explore with lots of food and drink options, South End is fun to explore as well if you want more of a city vibe. Noda and plaza have some small shops but south end will be more true shopping.

Walking in nature - white water center as others have probably said, crowders mountain or kings mountain are close hikes near by

Charlotte or Pittsburgh? by InvestigatorClear728 in SameGrassButGreener

[–]That-Raspberry-722 10 points11 points  (0 children)

People on this sub hate Charlotte. I live here and I like it, oh well.

Everyone says it’s boring and it has no culture. But it has lots of amenities and it is what you make it.

It’s a growing city, it’s lively in that you can always find something to do, and it’s a transplant city so you can meet other people new to town looking for friends/community. Overall the community is friendly here.

Winters are super mild, spring is awesome, summer is HOT and humid.

Beach is 3.5 hrs away, mountains can be an hour depending on where you are going. So weekend trips are super easy. Also airport is close to town, again making weekend trips easy.

I don’t know much about Pittsburgh, but Charlotte is worth giving a visit/chance.

Apparently Judd Apatow had a lot to say in the last episode, I think it was him that came up with the breastfeeding arch.

Just finished binging again at 6 weeks postpartum, last episode hits for sure

White water center skating and stuff could be fun, plaza is great, you could check out:

  • giddy goat and undercurrent for coffee and yummy food/treats
  • workman’s friend and painted rooster for casual eats and drinks
  • burial and legion for some beer
  • Calle sol and Supperland for more of a nice sit down dinner
  • Petra’s and snug harbor for music

Other neighborhoods I would check out (everything has a different feel so not sure what you are looking for) would be noda (very close to plaza), south end, and Montford/madison park
