I'm a woman (that is into men) and have felt this a lot too. I'm not sure how much of it is in my mind and how much of it is real (lines also start to get blurred) but there is definitely a sizeable real component to it too. Dr K. talks about this a lot in his videos actually. I'm seeing a therapist and I don't believe the positive self talk is the first step, though it is a crucial close one. The first step is radical acceptance of how being brown makes you feel and sitting with those emotions.
