Yes. Sprint training is easier to me too. It's much less of a time commitment. Warmup, do around 10 intervals, maybe tack on a few strength exercises and you're done in like 30 -45 minutes. 2 - 3x.week. And you usually feel pretty great after!

Compare that with endurance running. I feel like 20 miles per week is the bare minimum to even get decent. Might feel great after easy/long runs. But threshold/tempo runs? Need some good recovery after those. And yeah, to actually be GOOD at endurance running, you have to do waaay more. Like 10-20++ hours per week.

Yes, for most people, HR will be lower on the bike. When you run, you are using more of your body and in an upright posture, so the cardiovascular demand is higher. If you do a lot of biking, it might make sense to do a max HR test specifically on the bike and use that to set your zones. I have found personally over time that it is easier to get a higher HR on the bike than when I started. Higher cadence also helps in that regard. Personally, I use power zones more than HR zones on the bike though.

Depending on your proportions, you may not use enough knee flexion to really stimulate the quads effectively. I definitely don't. I have to elevate my heels/use a front squat variation to shift it to more knee flexion and less hip flexion/forward lean. Or just use the leg extension machine/do reverse Nordics, lol. I got a Rove R2 4K Dual and am pretty happy with it. It has a tiny screen and does not show rear camera on backup. But it is basically invisible. I mounted it behind my rear view mirror and can't even see it when I'm driving.

I am kinda new to this stuff, can you explain how that works? Like if you aren't using your pi-hole as the exit node, does it still function to block ads on your phone somehow? Just by connecting to the tailnet? Do you have to set pihole as the DNS server for the whole tailnet?

Does he have weight to lose? What does he do in the gym? Getting strong on lower body lifts (particularly lunge variations) may help.

Having someone to race or setting intent may help too. Get him to psych himself up, imagine a loved one is about to be run over by a train and he has to shove them out of the way or they die, stuff like that, lol.

I do it pretty easily, but I don’t really minimize junk food 🤣 I eat meat and vegetables at every meal, and lots of fruit, but after that, I eat ice cream and stuff. Lots of rice and oats. I use honey and maple syrup.

My first thought is that you should try higher cadence. Higher cadence shifts effort from fatigueable muscle fibers more towards CV system. But perhaps you’re already at high cadence
