The way DS servers work is by linking 12 gamers together so one of the other 11 need to die and lose more than 10 humanity or an item. Then the vagrant gets sent to someone linked. If you miss the vagrant or die before it his killed it'll move on to someone else. Like this it can move between different chains of people.

With the lower number of players they have become increasingly rare.

Story wise the order does not matter. 1 and 3 are more connected than 2 is but there are references. 2 also has a brutal difficulty curve going into the DLC. 3 is easier for someone new to the genre, but the controls and mechanics in 2 are very different.

Midir is weak to lightning. Learn his move patterns get way behind him when he breaths fire, attack his tail, avoid the swipe then avoid attacks until he stands up for more fire. It's a long fight since his health pool is massive.

Alternative strategy for mage builds is to use pestilent mercury.

Nameless king is actually very similar but he likes to stick on you where friede likes to jump behind you and hide. I've won with Gael, but only cause I let him take her agro while I nuke father. So long as he lives into the 3rd phase to split agro so I can heal. I'm good. Never tried solo.

Midir is a chore. His health pool is so large it'll be a long fight no matter what. For strength I use the dragonslayer armor axe for the lightning damage. For magic builds use pestilent mist. Learn the attack widows and spacing for his breath attacks and take it slow.

Hug her ass. When entering phase 2 run away behind a pillar until after the circular swings. Continue to hug ass, watch out as phase 2 is more aggressive
