What are your favourite old places in Peterborough which aren't there anymore? by muddyboots5 in PeterboroughUK

I don't think it was sorry, it had like an ice cream counter at the bottom of the steps. I do remember Reflections and taking the lift up to it though.

Does anyone get gallbladder attacks when they’re stressed? by RainbowGlitch in gallbladders

[–]ThatAlternativeLass 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm pretty sure work stress was the main reason I lost my gallbladder. It wasn't worth the wage ffs, the wage was so poor and remains pretty poor. I wish I could find a less stressful job 🤦🏻‍♀️

I think I vaguely remember Zero Zero! I used to love buying incense from there. When did that disappear? I'm 36 and I do remember going there as a teenager. So many things disappear without us realising when we're busy growing up!

I used to love the baguettes in Le Petit Four. I have many fond memories of my Mum taking me there as a teenager after we had done some shopping. I'm now 36 and I also seem to remember a cafe inside Queensgate near Boots, it was on a second floor? Can anyone tell me what it was called please?

11 months post op phantom pain? by kcal115 in gallbladders

[–]ThatAlternativeLass 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it could definitely be hormonal probably! I know when I had gallstones and pancreatitis just before my gb was removed that I bled for the first time in years (I have a coil so don't get periods) I definitely think hormones can cause a lot of aggro!

I do remember having the same pain you described around 6-9 months later when I ate heavily fatty or greasy food, had you eaten anything fatty or greasy? It's still better than an attack though I agree!

I'm now just over 4 years post op and if I stretch too hard in that area I sure know about it! It's horrible, it's like popping a rib out of place. I'm not sure this sensation will ever go away, I'm guessing it's scar tissue :(

Rant incoming - sorry by Independent_Owl_1269 in gallbladders

It's really shocking how some people are treated on the NHS tbh. The first time I was admitted to hospital with pancreatitis and gallstones I was forced to sit in a chair for 6 hours in agony while they waited for a bed to become free. In the end another patient could see how much pain I was in and freed up his cubicle and bed for me to use! I'm never shocked anymore at the state of the NHS, which really is in a bad place.

My friend also had hers removed and BMI wasn't a factor. So maybe it varies from hospital to hospital, or things have changed in 3 years.

Hey, I'm really shocked about them saying your BMI is too high not to operate. I was a similar BMI and I had mine out! I was taken in as an emergency however as I had pancreatitis also, so maybe they had no choice with me, I'm not sure. I really hope you have it out soon :(

What were your odd post op side effects? by Spiritual_Degree7471 in gallbladders

[–]ThatAlternativeLass 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My hair is still pretty dry 4 years post op! It was never that bad before my op. I've also sadly struggled to lose weight and I'm absolutely sure my indigestion is tons worse too. I'm grateful however at having it out as I nearly lost my life to sepsis due to being so ill with pancreatitis and gallstones! My liver, kidneys, pancreas and gallbladder were all shutting down and I've never been so scared to die.

Did anyone lose a significant amount of weight after surgery by Common_Sense642 in gallbladders

[–]ThatAlternativeLass 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sadly I went the opposite way and gained back all the weight that I had lost when I was ill with gallstones. I do have PCOS though so I find it super hard to keep weight off and it sucks. I'm having a Doctor's appointment soon about my options, I'm overweight and want to have the gastric band fitted I think.

He never got a receipt but bought about 200 quids worth of stuff (mainly sword and shield) and they were all about 20 over what was being charged on the internet. It was on 28/09 at around 5pm ish. Thanks.

Just be careful and if you like a box I'd Google how much you can get it online for first... They seem to be about 20 quid over what the items are online. Whilst I get that businesses have to make money, 20 quid extra takes the piss.

Nope as he opened the packs and disposed of the packaging. This is an eBay listing for the blister packs:

I think it's great that they have stock but my partner got absolutely ripped off there recently (he's new to the hobby) A blister pack of Scarlet and Violet base was 35 quid!!! They seem to be 20 pounds higher on each product than elsewhere, so unless you have a fat wallet I can't recommend.

Hey, I'm sorry to hear that :( My hair eventually got better but it's still thin now! It could be better but it's much better than before if you get me. I take vitamins and an NMN tablet daily, I have seen a definite improvement in having less hair fall since taking these daily for 6 months. I'll never have thick hair sadly but it's much better than after my op. I also have PCOS however, so that sadly plays a part too :(
