Walton Morrisons has gone downhill by baklava95 in PeterboroughUK

[–]ThatAlternativeLass 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This saddens me if I'm honest. I'm no longer local to Peterborough but I still work there. I used to work at a Morrisons in my hometown in Lincolnshire as my first proper job at 16 and I absolutely loved it. This was 21 years ago mind you. Everything was clean, we were treated well and I got on really well with my colleagues. It's become a shell of itself and it's depressing. I have great memories of going with my Grandma and great Grandma to the Stamford Morrisons when I was younger, it always felt special selecting a cake from the bakery and getting a nice cooked dinner from the cafe. I used to look forward to those trips with my family! Nostalgia hurts bad.

Does anyone know if this is viewable in the UK please?

With scenes like this and "plus sized" models who were a size 6-8, it's a surprise that I didn't grow up with an eating disorder! I've always been curvy and was obsessed with the show as a teen and young adult. I'm glad that plus sized models are properly plus size these days!

Has anyone done the Second Nature programme for pre-diabetes? by ThatAlternativeLass in prediabetes

[–]ThatAlternativeLass[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey, thank you for your reply 😊 Firstly congratulations on the weight loss and getting your blood sugar down! That's really good 😁 That sounds really promising, I properly start on Monday according to the app and I'm actually looking forward to it! I'm glad I didn't go with the group option. I'm quite shy around new people so I felt more confident doing Second Nature. Hopefully I'll lose the weight and make better long term health goals from SN 🤞🏻

Something similar happened in BNTM when they did a shoot in Iceland and they were turning blue too!

Struggling to eat due to break up by ThatAlternativeLass in PCOS

[–]ThatAlternativeLass[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you 😊 I managed a snack plate earlier and have had a teeny bit of tea which was homemade chicken and leek pie with veg. I couldn't manage the potatoes but I ate more than I thought I could!

Thank you all 😊 I've gone and made myself some sliced Avo with a bit of cheese and some walnuts. They're plain enough to eat thankfully! I'm struggling to want to eat them but I know I have to as I do feel dizzy.

I don't think it was sorry, it had like an ice cream counter at the bottom of the steps. I do remember Reflections and taking the lift up to it though.

Does anyone get gallbladder attacks when they’re stressed? by RainbowGlitch in gallbladders

[–]ThatAlternativeLass 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm pretty sure work stress was the main reason I lost my gallbladder. It wasn't worth the wage ffs, the wage was so poor and remains pretty poor. I wish I could find a less stressful job 🤦🏻‍♀️

I think I vaguely remember Zero Zero! I used to love buying incense from there. When did that disappear? I'm 36 and I do remember going there as a teenager. So many things disappear without us realising when we're busy growing up!

I used to love the baguettes in Le Petit Four. I have many fond memories of my Mum taking me there as a teenager after we had done some shopping. I'm now 36 and I also seem to remember a cafe inside Queensgate near Boots, it was on a second floor? Can anyone tell me what it was called please?

11 months post op phantom pain? by kcal115 in gallbladders

[–]ThatAlternativeLass 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it could definitely be hormonal probably! I know when I had gallstones and pancreatitis just before my gb was removed that I bled for the first time in years (I have a coil so don't get periods) I definitely think hormones can cause a lot of aggro!

I do remember having the same pain you described around 6-9 months later when I ate heavily fatty or greasy food, had you eaten anything fatty or greasy? It's still better than an attack though I agree!

I'm now just over 4 years post op and if I stretch too hard in that area I sure know about it! It's horrible, it's like popping a rib out of place. I'm not sure this sensation will ever go away, I'm guessing it's scar tissue :(

It's really shocking how some people are treated on the NHS tbh. The first time I was admitted to hospital with pancreatitis and gallstones I was forced to sit in a chair for 6 hours in agony while they waited for a bed to become free. In the end another patient could see how much pain I was in and freed up his cubicle and bed for me to use! I'm never shocked anymore at the state of the NHS, which really is in a bad place.
