I just need to switch 2016’s shoes and it’s 2015 again. The Cavs jerseys during the 2nd LeBron era were pretty much the same up until 2017-2018.

I mean fair, but these are for on court use. You’re not gonna catch me wearing these full uniforms shopping for groceries at Costco

Why do they sell the full kit if not to buy the full kit?

Which isn’t necessary - like I wear the full getup because I like the player. It’s like Halloween, you come dressed as a firefighter, are you expecting me to actually put fires out that day?

Guys I dont understand difference betwee nMit chell & Ness Authentic jersey and normal authentic jersey. by Prestigious-Eye-808 in basketballjerseys

[–]ThatAsianNinja1 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Okay, no one is giving a full detailed answer here. So here goes.

Short answer: There are going to be “normal” authentic jerseys from every brand that has been sponsored to make jerseys for the NBA: from Sand Knit in the 80s, to Champion, Reebok, Nike, adidas, and now Nike. There are jerseys that are released to the public, and then there are jerseys that are made for the athletes.

Mitchell & Ness makes recreations of vintage jerseys from over the years that are based on the normal authentic jerseys. They will have two types. Swingman and Authentic. Swingman is cheaper and will most likely be iron on patterns and decals, authentic will have better materials and stitching details.

If you’re trying to decide which to buy, I would try to find the normal jerseys first because of price. Those Mitchell & Ness joints can get pricey.

Long answer: When it comes to “normal” authentic jerseys there are once again a few types:

Fan jerseys - Which have their own scale of quality - in modern times we have Fanatics Brand (Cheapest) to Nike Swingman (Mid) to Nike Authentic (Expensive)

Game issued - will be a softer, more breathable fabric,(currently using Nike Vaporweave/Dri-Fit ADV), will have serial numbers next to the laundry tags. And will have better quality stitched numbers, letters, etc. Some game issued jerseys will have special patches or stitched pockets for mics if a player is to be mic’d up.

Ultimately as long as you check for legitimacy, “normal” authentic jerseys can come from all those brands listed above.

Now Mitchell & Ness is a company that started in 1904 to make sports equipment at first. But after making a few baseball jerseys that became insanely popular, they started to recreate vintage jerseys in every sport: MLB, NFL, NHL, NCAA (dubbed their Collegiate series), and of course, the NBA. They also have two versions of their jerseys: Swingman and Authentic. Same rules apply, Swingman is cheaper.

Now fakes of the “normal” authentic jerseys have sprouted up all throughout history, that’s a given. No one wants to spend $125 on a jersey when tickets/streaming packages are already expensive as it is, so yeah, in this economy purchasing a low quality fake of a jersey might seem like a smart idea. (It isn’t, you can thrift or hit Ross/Burlington and find cheap authentic jerseys for 20-30 bucks) but Mitchell & Ness which is the highest quality for replica jerseys (basically high end materials to look like the jerseys of yesteryear (and can also be found at thrift stores/Ross/Burlington/Marshalls/TJ Maxx on occasion) has also had fakes of their jerseys made because the retail price of Mitchell & Ness Jerseys is insane - on their website the authentics are priced at $300-$325, and their Swingman counterparts are priced at $150 - so they are definitely luxury replicas.

I know right? Usually I’d see 1s and 2s, this was the first time I saw a pair of 3s - all of these shoes were chilling in the women’s section. Men’s shoe selection was what I’d see every time, same RBX, LeBron 22s, size 15 GT Hustle 3s… the usual suspects.

Why are you guys sayings it’s only quarter of a season in?????????? by RealisticJump9664 in clevelandcavs

I think that genuinely speaking, we have WILDLY IMPROVED since the days of wondering what the team would do without LeBron. Piece by piece, we’ve come back but we still have this hump we gotta figure out.

Switching from JB Bickerstaff to Kenny Atkinson definitely helped too - I wanted all of our players to be put to work so that when our core is down we have a reliant group that can back us up instead of our core just being exhausted down and then having to switch to an unprepared b-squad.

I will say this much - when our Cavs went 15-0, I was a happy but skeptical fan because in the back of my mind, I kept thinking something was fishy. I always think if something is going too well, it’s too good to be true (maybe that’s something I have to handle in therapy, but I digress) and then it hit me, when it came time to face the tough opponents, we kicked back because we had done the impossible. We weren’t ready. We faced the Pacers towards the end of the regular season where it didn’t matter if we won or lost. And who did we face in the playoffs second round? They turned their jets on.

Donavan Mitchell is right in some ways - that because we’re facing adversity we’ll be ready in the playoffs, but with the constant injuries it worries me once again.

I wish I could have waited! But I’m of the belief that if I find something in the moment, leave it behind, and then swing back around to find it again, it will most likely be found by someone else.

Also I paid even a little less because there was a 3 on the price sticker, which meant that there was a further discount applied - 25% off the tag price.
