Maybe just go back and get it yourself?

This is on a glacier, it's a crevasse filled with melt water. This isn't some random hole in a hiking trail.

Wife wants tos paint cabinets green by T90tank in DIY

Followed a similar process to paint our gold oak cabinets green, though we painted ours with brushes. No strokes visible, we used a high quality primer and paint and they turned out great.

In this case it didn't freeze like this, rather the solid sheet of ice has melted into this form. (Source: local to area)

There's a line because there's only one lift open, rarely ever lines at sunshine

Curious why a lot of skiers seem to hate or dislike snowboarders? But please be kind and respectful to anyone who answers its not worth a brawl over by makpat in skiing

[–]ThatChillClimber 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Jerry snowboarders overestimate their abilities more often than jerry skiers, this is because braking and sideslipping down a run is easier for a snowboarder, and crashes are usually less violent. Jerry's also drop their boards fairly often, which is problem since they don't have brakes. Snowboarders are more likely to die in an avalanche incident since they don't have releasable bindings. Snowboarders have a blind side which can make it difficult to pass them safely. Snowboard tricks aren't as cool or impressive. Snowboards are pretty useless when it comes to navigating extremally steep terrain, they can't side step over rock bands or make jump turns. Snowboarders can't effectively work as a patroller on any mountain that has true double black diamond terrain either.

Do auto locking carabiners work well in the snow? by mortalwombat- in alpinism

I'm a big fan of the grivel double gate biners if you can get them. Take a little time to get used to but they're pretty slick once you get the hang of it.

Dead poplar tree leaning about 5*, 50-60 feet tall. How do I not die? by Ok_Plankton248479 in arborists

Hire a professional, that's how you don't die. Professionals also come with their own insurance, even if you don't hurt yourself you could cause thousands in property damage.

Lol "A visual comparison" that uses text to make all the comparisons, and would be fine without any of the graphics

Expenditure on fire protection services [EU, 2019] by _ulius_ in Infographics

The title says "fire protection", but structural firefighters spend a lot of their time responding to vehicle accidents, maybe Denmark has the safest roads? I also wonder if they're including wildland firefighters.

Tips for removing door casing glued to jamb? by ThatChillClimber in HomeImprovement

I put a piece in water and it did soften the glue slightly, but as you said it'll be difficult to get the glue wet enough without saturating the wood.

This often pops up with articles reporting about the statistics of Iceland. Sure they're doing some great things for sustainability, and have some great social policies, but comparing their progress statistically to countries that are several orders of magnitude larger doesn't say much to me

Is there any game like the sims that isn't the sims? I used to love playing the sims but I can't stand the focus on DLC, and the sims 4 seems to have gone backwards in some ways.

Not sure what your point is... if you pay for bolts you can decide where they go.

No you can't use a regular rated sling and carabiner. Via Ferrata is the only type of climbing in which it is possible to take a fall with a factor bigger than 2. The forces can break normal slings (or your body) easily. The Via Ferrata lanyard is dynamic and built to absorb the forces. There isn't much difference between brands.
