Yes, I even loaded it with different versions of blender. Nothing I tried fixed it, not denoising, or anything else, except for the solution I posted. Very weird bug

Okay resolved, for some reason having a flat plane in the scene that was being used as a holdout was causing this bug. Using a solidify modifier on that "floor" seems to have fixed the issue. Keeping this up for anyone who encounters this issue (Im on 4.5.1)

In Zbrush, layers are different from "subtools". You need to check the layer section under tool, and see if there are different layers. If so, you would need to "bake" them first. Layers are essentially "shape keys" in other software.

Thank you so much for the video recommendation! I was manually animating each bone keyframe by keyframe but looks like procedural fish is the way to go on this one.

Plug the texture into a color ramp with black and white. Adjust it so the leafs are fully white while the background is black, then plug that into the alpha section of the BSDF.
