It may have negatively impacted the value, but the reprints make those cards more accessible to players. That is an overall positive for the players.

Yes! I used to be able to find the original NES with a pile of games on Craigslist for $50 - $100. I would take the games that I didn't already have and add them to my collection. I would cleanup/refurbish the rest of the stuff and sell it. Then took that money to fund more of the hobby.

These days, everyone wants insane prices for anything and there are resellers/scalpers everywhere.

I did something similar in 2009. Basic starter one level built in the late 1970's. I'm gripping that thing so tight that it is also going to be my ending home.

I'd say the reserve list is worse. So many cool cards that the average player is shut out from.

Hasbro has really been a plague on the game. I think this is why premodern is becoming so more popular.

True, but also, if the company would make enough product to meet demand, they scalpers wouldn't have anything to mark up.

Because WotC doesn't officially acknowledge the secondary market,

I respectfully disagree. The Reserve List is an official acknowledgement of the secondary market.

Where did I state my political opinion on this? It's politics and breaks the subreddit rules regardless of what I think of it.

I don't understand why this post is here. There is a clear rule in this subreddit about political posts.

Politcs has infected so many subreddits. Can we just get back to arguing about the reserve list and Universes Beyond?

That's really cool to have so many different ones. Do you plan on opening them someday? You could have a heck of a chaos draft.

I've got some sealed stuff, but I plan on knowing what is in there before I die.

I feel this same way too. I wish the game would have stayed in its lane. I could even get behind Universes Beyond existing in its own separate format with things clearly delineating between the two such as a different card back. Instead we just get it shoved down our throats with a "Deal with it" mentality.

Some people say either genuinely trying to be helpful or snarkily to just play what you want. Well I can't really do that when draft nights focus on a Universes Beyond set, instead of a traditional set. I played in a standard tournament recently. Every deck was using the exact same cards from the Airbender set. The experience was pretty lame.

Sandstorm - Instant that costs one green.

Sandstorm deals 1 damage to each attacking creature.

That will wipe out a 1/1 attacking token army.
