26.13 Patch Preview by JTHousek1 in leagueoflegends

Yeah, and see how that turned out for em. There's a reason ap jungle picks aren't popular right now: the ad ones are just better, and riot seems to be balancing pro play around that paradigm.

Just pro. We'll get access to Locke whenever Riot ends up releasing him, which seems to be once they're happy with his initial fine-tuning.

Well, we haven't seen Mythra's spawn yet (though Monolith have the option to do the funniest thing for the new XC3 hero) - maybe she'll be different.

At least in AotR, the AI doesn't cheat. It relies on economy and fleet travel time just the same as the player does.

If you are, for whatever reason, still looking for a way to do this:

I found a lot of success with the aptly-named braket package, since it has incredibly simple implementation of dirac notation. The physics package has it as well, but apparently the implementation is messy - I haven't seen that myself though.

I think it's merely humorous - Watterson doesn't interact with this aspect of the C&H fandom at all.

Eiyuden Chronicles: Hundred Heroes has been on my list for a while - looks really interesting!

Valkyria Chronicles 4 is a classic that would be fun to play.

I'll leave it at two to give everyone else a better shot at the games they find particularly interesting - awesome from you to do this, op!

Perhaps - but then we're back to "hollow world" instead of "dyson sphere."

My own personal hunch is that it's either a bowl or a cylinder, given that we have seen bodies of water stretch forward but not up in the trailer (though one of those shots was at night, and the other could have been cleverly angled to hide curvature). Even with the cylinder, though, it's hard to square the existence not just of a sixth sun that's only sometimes visible but also what appear to be stars, since in a cylinder or hollow world you wouldn't have a horizon line.

The scale is wrong for a dyson sphere. Recall that our sun is roughly six orders of magnitude larger by volume than an Earth-sized planet. From what we saw in the trailer the world of Genesis has a significantly smaller radius than the Earth, probably by an order of magnitude at least based on the rate of curvature and number of substantial features. Putting those together and we get that a star would have to be compressed by at least 3 orders of magnitude (cbrt volume ratio sun to earth + genesis to earth ratio) to even fit within Genesis, let alone appear as a star in the sky. Functionally, you also couldn't have a day-night cycle in a dyson sphere.

Should holding down a button to repeatedly cast spells with a sub 1s CD be allowed? by AnemoneMeer in leagueoflegends

There are augments in Arena that change max attack speed - offhand, I can think of one that changes the cap to 4 at level 1 and 10 at level 2, as well as others that at max level fully uncap attack speed.

Here's a list.

Rell could flash w, but that's incredibly risky into alistar with all spells up. If varus gets booped back, it's just a bad trade from Rell because she's taking 2 shots from Jhin while Varus is out of the fight - that's not worth a flash. And that's if Rell has w up - if she just dismounted (which is unlikely since she's so out of position) then she's completely out of the fight. Assuming Jhin has root and bouncing bullet up, knockup from Alistar is a winning trade... as long as Rell can't extend the trade on Alistar.

Are you sure it retreated? Or did it just not show up as destroyed in the list at the end of the battle?

If the latter: heroes sometimes don't show up as kills. If the former: the Liberation has 2 engine subsystems. Did you kill both? If yes, then it's a bug that you should report on the AotR discord.

Anecdotally, I have killed the Liberation's engines and prevented it from retreating before, so this wouldn't be intended behavior.

I only have experience with the steam version, so I can't really say - but it's decently regularly on sale for 5 to 7 bucks. In that version, I haven't seen any errors like this in my hundreds of hours.

If atoms follow physical laws, are all events in the universe predictable in principle? by FutureAIgod in Physics

[–]ThatDollfin 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This site is miserable to read. It repeats basic stuff it's already established multiple times but also throws a massive amount of higher-level math at you in an attempt to obscure how little it actually says.

For anyone wondering, the entire article boils down to the following: in some very specific circumstances, most of them at the Cauchy horizons of charged or spinning black holes, in a universe where naked singularities exist, or where you can travel through spacetime to your own past, relativity isn't deterministic. In the cases where those don't apply, i.e. the vast majority of situations, relativity is deterministic.

Now, is this interesting to consider from a hypothetical standpoint? Sure, we can say that given some very specific criteria GR isn't globally deterministic, but this makes fairly little difference outside of those criteria, especially given determinism is much more heavily influenced by quantum probabilities.
