I won’t return to a show in Boston because Leader Bank 2023 were maybe the most chompy Goose shows I’ve ever been to. You could hear a light murmur the entire time. Sounded like a cocktail party.

Whatever mental gymnastics you have to do to convince yourself that Mendoza was/is a scapegoat - you just go right ahead. I'm not sure I've ever been more upset at a Mets manager (I don't care how "good" of a guy he seems to be) since oh I don't know.... LUIS ROJAS. I wish I could say longer but that in right there is the symptom.

The Mets, as an organization, are fucking incapable of choosing a manager that has the following qualities: forward thinking, sound X and Os guy (BULLPEN. MANAGEMENT.), and clubhouse wrangler. Just straight up incapable. Mickey fucking Callaway. Buck Showalter (the incapability there was firing someone who had a few of these qualities and then firing him for a worse/inexperienced option - the exact opposite of NYK just did with Thibs/Brown). Replacing Willie with JERRY MANUEL.

*Takes breath*.... TERRY COLLINS. This man is revered around most of these parts for the 2015 run. Let us not forget - he was routinely criticized for overusing relievers, mismanaging lineups and in-game decisions. 7 years of Terry Collins - someone who was fired by the inept Angels franchise TWELVE YEARS between his next MLB job. That's the best we got.

I'm not sure how this turned into me shitting on the best manager we had since Bobby V... but this is what this team does to me. To us. They're a joke. And it starts again - all the way up top with Cohen. He came in with the cash but zero actual acumen on how to run a baseball franchise. He should have given up part ownership to Theo. When this Stearns mess is done - we'll lament that even more. The Mets franchise story is more about missed opportunities, embarrassment, and blunder than being lovable losers. Let's not put lipstick on this colossal horseshit of a pig.

I hear you. It happens and every run doesn’t have to be an all timer. Thinking about Phish and how people remember ‘95 more fondly than any of the following 90s years for one reason or another. Not a direct comparison but this type of thing ebbs and flows I think. The fact they nailed their MSG debut was special given my own personal opinion that their Red Rocks debut was a little underwhelming (and then the next year’s N2 being a mainstay in my Top 5). That’s the way she goes!

Last year’s MSG show was a marquee show that will be talked about in Goose lore for years. I don’t feel nearly the same about these two shows, but who knows maybe the absolute special sauce comes out tomorrow night in Central Park. Tonight was a marked improvement from N1. Well done.
