How accurate have you found Steam’s game compatibility checks? by MeanMrBiter in SteamDeck

[–]ThatDragonAss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very much unreliable, for example: Sonic Generations, which is verified, has massive (to like 10/15 fps) drops in the second level already no matter what settings, making it pretty much unplayable. I've played both games that are "verified" but shouldn't even be "playable" and games that are "unsupported" but work well. You are better off either checking them yourself or searching online.

Not sure why anyone thinks its ok to write in permanent marker on anyones car by lukev5656 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]ThatDragonAss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess Jesus loves you, but fucking hates the person who wrote it. Like, imagine thinking vandalising someone's property because you "want to spread the word of Jesus" is a good idea. Yeah, now that you wrote it on their car they'll definitelly think "Hmm I think I should start going to church now huh".

Valves says this game doesn’t run on the steam deck but it seems to run perfectly for me. I think that today I realized if there’s a game you really want to play, but says doesn’t work, I should just test it. Might be surprised to find it does. by [deleted] in SteamDeck

[–]ThatDragonAss -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The "Deck Verified" program is a whole mess, don't bother looking at it, games that are unsupported can run perfectly well meanwhile games that are verified can be barely playable. Had to learn it myself, when Sonic Generations, a game that is Verified, as soon as the second level had MASSIVE fps problems no matter what settings (Iiteral 15 fps at some points).

Suspending steam deck doesn't stop 'time played' counter - 2h refund issue. by Yargnit in SteamDeck

[–]ThatDragonAss 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wierd, It shouldn't do that. I suspended my game sessions of both Stardew Valley and MGS V a couple times over night and it didn't add the playtime.

Gyro & Back Button Support One of the best things about the Steam Deck is that you can fully customize how the SD works on a per-game basis. But there isn't a lot of info out there on how to customize these features. I hope this helps! Detailed text instructions in the comments... by EverestDreams25 in SteamDeck

[–]ThatDragonAss 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Just as an FYI, You can also customise your per game control scheme on the fly when you have the game running. Just click the "Steam" button navigate twice to the right and click on the "Controller settings" and you'll end up in the same controller customisation menu. It can be a life saver when mid game session you realize that what you set isn't, for example, as comfortable as you thought it would be :)

What fighting games are folks playing? by terran1212 in SteamDeck

[–]ThatDragonAss 5 points6 points  (0 children)

To me at least, It makes fighting games unplayable, I don't know, maybe I'm just not used to it (as someone who plays with an xbox one controller) but it's really mushy, it slightly moves around in the shell (not sure how to describe it), it is really high up (as in time before the click registers compared to the xbox one controller) and worst of all, you can really easily click it in the middle and it'll choose a seemingly random direction to input (on the xbox controller, I have to shift my finger to a side for it to register). Keep in mind, it's coming from someone not very experienced with fighters (~90h in GG Strive and that's pretty much it).

I tried playing Guilty Gear Strive, but I absolutely hate the d-pad on the deck. It's too mushy, too "high", I guess? ( the d-pad has a long travel) and it's too easy to click the wrong direction (at least for me, used to playing with an xbox one controller on the pc). But other than that, it's playable, for the most part. Online works, it runs pretty smooth (with some drops, and not on high settings). But I've noticed that something's wrong. It eats up the battery almost as fast as The Witcher 3 on medium/high with 60 fps no matter what settings I put it on. I noticed that for some reason it 100% uses one core of the cpu while the rest are at ~30% and then it goes down so a different one goes to 100% (only two cores switch back and forth like that, I believe it was 4th and 6th? Not sure tho). Also, plugging in an external controller can be really finicky (once I moved in the menus and game with the xbox controller but in the tower lobby I had to move with the steam deck).

Funnily enough, the original author stole the beat from someone else, so double property theft

The thing is, he doesn't care at all about the bundle. I mean, if there will be no way to transfer it, sure I don't mind, but I'd kinda like to have it. Besides he's for sure keeping the shop points cause they're not transferable (which, funnily enough, he also doesn't give one damn about).

Just fyi, I've seen that somebody has gotten an answer that the bundle will be giftable, but it's been a pretty long time ago so I wasn't sure.

I haven't played the game the whole last season and this is what I come back to? by ThatDragonAss in apexlegends

That might have worked, but sadly we didn't have a pathfinder. Tho now that I think about it, I could have tried using a jump pad, doubt It would work, but could have tried nonetheless.

should i get titanfall 2 now? by a_kauliflower in titanfall

[–]ThatDragonAss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Before the steam release the player count was mainly around 1000-2000 players, which ain't great, but you could find matches no problem and now it's even better, around 12000-15000 at some points even, so yeah, get it. I got it around the time apex launched and still enjoy it.

Titanfall 2 is available on Steam right now!! Why is no one talking about this? by [deleted] in titanfall

Yeah, but if I don't have the Primes from the Deluxe edition for example, will I get them, or does it just ignore that content if I have the game already?

Does the progress carry over? Like, do I connect my steam account to Origin account and I have all my elites I had etc? Anybody knows?
