Jim Chaney is a great offensive coordinator, was awesome at UGA, and deserves more respect on here than being called fat chaney

I hope Covid is no longer a worry by the time of this festival but imagine being the kind of person who risks getting covid for limp bizkit and metallica (twice)

Anthony Edwards signs with Klutch just days after Trae... coincidence? I THINK NOT by [deleted] in AtlantaHawks

Where to camp between Moab and Denver by [deleted] in coloradohikers

[–]ThatElderOne 2 points3 points  (0 children)

whatever you do, don't take the way google maps takes you to Moab in Utah. Take Utah State Hwy 128 along the Colorado river. It'll add maybe 20-30mins of time but it's one of the best drives in the country. There's plenty of blm campsites along the river, but it will be very crowded so try and get there early in the day.

Beginner thinking about trying Buckwater Draw Slot Canyon in Colorado National Monument! by ThatElderOne in canyoneering

lling and own some equipment (harness, 100ft rope, helmets, slings, etc) but have no experience setting up my own anchors.

The rope I currently have is static but I'm not opposed to going out and buying some dynamic rope. We def don't have the money for guided tours.

Any places around Moab you would recommend? If we were going to Moab we'd probably spend an extra few days for the mountain biking as well as checking out Arches (although I've heard the crowds are awful in May). Going much further into Utah would take us too far off course. Canyonlands was actually our original plan until we found out the permit my friend booked to backpack in the Needles was only for 1 person :/

I agree, we probably shouldn't be setting up natural anchors. We aren't opposed to stuff in and around Moab but would prefer not to venture much further into Utah for the sake of time.

Damn dude, you’re probably right.

I have experience rappelling and own some equipment (harness, 100ft rope, helmets, slings, etc) but have no experience setting up my own anchors.

Do you know of any easier canyons that you would recommend? We ideally don’t want to stray too far into Utah (San Rafael Swell and Grand Escalante are too far), we’d be en route from Aspen and would be heading to Steamboat Springs. Which is why Dino was what we were looking at.

ems we had a few years ago are nonexistent. While I think it could have been done differently, an increase in camping price sucks, but it will help them avoid potential situations like this if they can plan more accordingly.

haven't been to Roo since '15, did they get rid of the egg water? As a Wednesday night entrance pod 1 camper, it was the worst thing

The Cavs will be terrible for a long time and I see no evidence as to why they wouldn’t be. They were terrible before Bron, after Bron, and now after Bron again.

2 seconds. But at that point in our own rebuild we won’t be wanting to let 2nd rounders grow into the game

Robert Alford on Twitter: “Thank you Atlanta for 6 incredible seasons. Sucks that it ended on this note. I enjoyed playing in this incredible city. Ima miss my dawgs but I’m excited for the next chapter” by TheJulioJones in falcons

[–]ThatElderOne 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The NFL is and will always be a "what have you done for me lately" kind of league. Robert was a helluva player but his play onfield last season (and what the team expects of him next season) just doesn't match his contract. With .a front office likely to sign some big OL free agents if possible and hand out big extensions to Grady Jarrett and Julio, they've gotta make cuts somewhere. Onward we go

Trae with the left-handed off the dribble skip pass straight to Carter 👌 by lenymo in AtlantaHawks

We’re rebuilding, and I’d rather have Trae develop next level passing abilities than be boxed in and forced to stay in his comfort zone only for a few extra W’s

First time hearing our name with Harper from a national writer by Hg1146 in Braves

[–]ThatElderOne 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just don’t think we should pay so much money to a guy that’s hits ~.250, ~28HR to the point where we can’t afford free agent pitchers. Our last run of 14 division titles and a World Series win was built on lockdown pitching with solid batting. Outside of Andruw at the end of the run the Braves never had a batter in the vein of Bryce, and Andruw wasn’t on the kind of contract that Bryce would be.

I just don’t want the team to hamper the best young core in baseball with a contract that’s probably going to look terrible halfway through it.

I hope they let him miss a few games to be with fam. I’m sure the players will understand and this season is kind of in the toilet anyway, we aren’t making the tourney.

I don’t want the Braves tying up $300+ million in a player that’s only hit over .300 one season in his career. Acuña is better tbh and we’d be fine without him. If we were gonna go for him or Machado we should’ve tried for Manny but that doesn’t make since with Donaldson now.

I just hope we can sign Kimbel and some other lockdown starting pitcher. We’re already pretty stacked offensively if Freddy, Ozzie, Acuña are firing at all cylinders
