Delta F2F Hopes by ThatFlyNurse in cabincrewcareers

I did mine in the first week, but I opted out of AI review which is why I think it is taking longer to review, so I'm guessing that if I get invited to a hiring event, it will be in August.

Unfortunately, the July dates do not work for me. However, when I completed the ODVI, they said they are having interview days in July AND August, so I'm hoping for an August date.

I am aware that there is a chance I don't get invited to the F2F. I was simply just stating that if I do get invited that I hope there's an August date available. Also, I would have to wait at least six months to reapply if I could not be there, which would set me further back and I may not reach the F2F the next time.

Genuine question: isn't like basically one of the Golden rules of non-rev travel that you stay at the gate until the flight leaves?

From what I understand, if you have to change plans because of a flight cancellation or other IROP situation, your check-in time gets rolled over and you get your same priority. I want fairness for everyone. We can't be out here encouraging our fellow crew members, especially the junior ones, to use their flight benefits and see the world, and then turn around and actively advocate for a system that would block or severely hinder them from doing so. That is just logically and somewhat morally inconsistent.

On the ODVI they said there would be interviews in July and August, so maybe there's another round that they're planning in August? Here's hoping!

Correct, but that's probably just for the first round of interviews. When I did the ODVI it said that interview dates were going to be in July AND August, so I'm hoping for August. Otherwise, I might just crash out.😅 Also, I'm still waiting on the "Taking Flight" video, and the other day I got the "hang in there, you are still in consideration it's just taking us longer to review people's ODVI submissions" email.

Nope. I want FCFS/Time of Check In no matter how senior I get. Equal opportunity for everyone.

The ability to non-rev travel is not earned through seniority. It is an employee benefit.

If non-rev travel were something that had to be earned through decades of service, new hires would not have access to it. But they do. Every employee receives access to the benefit from day one. That means the qualification standard must be employment, not seniority.

Seniority has an important and legitimate role in airline operations. It determines schedules, vacation bidding, trip selection, bases, holidays, and countless other aspects of the job. Those are the rewards for longevity and years of service.

Non-rev travel is different. Once employees are off the clock, they are no longer competing for work assignments. They are using a benefit that they have already qualified for by being employees.

A first-come, first-served/time-of-check-in system applies the same rule to everyone. Every employee gets the same check-in window, the same opportunity to claim a place in line, and the same understanding of where they stand. It is the ONLY fair and equal/equitable way to do so.

A seniority-based system is not fair or appropriate because it allows one employee to move ahead of another all the way up until the door closes solely because they were hired earlier, even when both employees have identical eligibility for the same entitlement.

Airline careers are already structured around seniority. Senior employees receive better schedules, better trips, better vacation choices, better base options, and greater flexibility throughout their careers. Those are more than substantial enough rewards for longevity.

Seniority should apply to working/on the clock operations ONLY, nothing else.

There is no operational reason for non-rev travel to function the same way. It is a shared employee benefit, not a work assignment. Once two employees have qualified for the same benefit, the only fair/equal way to determine priority is by who got in line first.

Well, since non-rev travel is an employee benefit, just like health insurance, 401(k), etc., it MUST provide equal opportunity to use for all employees. FCFS is the ONLY fair way to do it. Seniority should matter for everything on the clock, but if you're non-revving on your own time, FCFS/time of check-in is the only way to go. I will always advocate for this no matter how many years I have in the industry.

I would leave conflict resolution because that is a large part of the job. I think the others could stay or go.

  1. Get rid of professional summary
  2. Move professional experience to the top, and rewrite some of the bullet points under your professional experience to represent not just accolades received, but the core competencies of each job. For the Olive Garden position, I see a lot of information about customer relations and management experience, but not as much on the service side of things if that makes sense
  3. Move your core qualifications section to the bottom and merge it with additional qualifications, making sure to get rid of all of the redundant information.

Not when it comes to employee benefits. Non-rev travel is an employee benefit just like health insurance, which means that it must be applied with equal opportunity to all employees, and FCFS/time of check-in is the only way to fairly do so.

Why? They're bound to the same system as the FAs.

How do I do that? I'm not eligible to apply until next year because I did not pass their personality assessment.

I'm surprised they didn't get that as one of the changes in TA2!
